I was watching the tennis channel and it was pathetic to see all the current males stars be pc correct and say they believed in equal prize money......
Only the joker and a few others came out and said woman don't deserve equal money....best of 3 vs best of 5. Some how the women have gotten the game to go along for the equal prize money..... Maybe the doubles prize money should be double what the singles is.....It's total BS.....there is no such thing as a win/win situation in tennis.... If the women truly want to be equal then let them enter men's events....But we all know that will never happen... So I agree 100% with the Joker..........women don't deserve it....play best of 5 then OK! For what its worth! |

Agree with Djoker. I don't think that the doubles should be paid more, but I think they deserve the same amount of pay as singles.

Compare the injury rate in the WTA with the injury rate in the ATP. And don't post that it's a lack of conditioning. That's BS. You can't condition a knee or a wrist into being stronger. The "poor technique" argument is also silly.
People need to remember than men and women aren't the same. Men have a physiology that helps them with sports. I think 5 set matches are a bad thing. I've seen Wimbledon matches ruined because one player is fatigued from one or more 5 set matches and the other isn't and grass is supposed to be a quicker surface that makes for quicker matches. The problem is 5 set matches in the ATP and two set finals in the WTA. Two sets is too little for a slam final. I think they should play best of three for the semis and final. I think the men's matches should be best of three from the 4th round up, too. 4 and 5 sets is silly. I'd also like to see mandatory doubles for seeded players. Make singles matches more reasonable in length and get top players to play doubles. It's good for the sport and better for the players.

And there's no reason the women can't play 5 if they want the same prize money. Graf, Navratilova, Sanchez Vicario, Seles all could have lasted 5 sets. Jukka |
