it also seems like where you would normally have tennis elbow, but it doesnt have that much pain.

the advice is simple, stop playing!
I had TE for about 6 months, everything started with some kind of pain not serious to keep me away from playing The biggest mistake was not to stop for couple of days or weeks.

also, would the pain be due to my racquet, because i use a liquidmetal heat which is only 10.3oz and i have read other posts and they say light racquets are bad for your arms

just don't play until your elbow says yes! you'll know when that is..........also don't think about changing your gear yet!
your racquet seems to be on the light side but mechanics are very important in TE Generally speaking heavier and more flexible racquets are better for your elbow

I had TE a few months back:
all the things below help 1) rest and therapy - includes deep tissue massage and icing 2) gear changes - ~12 oz flexible racquet , strung with gut or multi at lower tension. also replacing leather grip with gel cushion grip helped me. 3) use elbow brace while playing helps too. 4) technique. TE is mostly caused by topspin backhand for 1HBH, excess pronation during serve/forehand.. or simply gripping the racquet too tightly. till you figure out your technique, goes easy on anything topspin for a bit.. go easy on pronating during serve/forehand.. use more blocks, flat, chips, slices till you figure out your technique problem.
