My LF machine finally came Friday. Strung up 4 racquets over the weekend. My quick read is they made this thing a huge improvement over my 200tt.
For starts, the mounting. There is no other way to say it. It blows away the 200tt mounting. The one on the Quantum is a 1000 times easier and faster. If this six point is anything like what other machines use, and it looks like it is, it is no wonder. It murders the old way of doing it. The string gripper change is another cool change. The little round thing the string goes around and ball bearing gripper makes everything easier and accessible. You don’t have to pull half the tension by hand to make it stop hitting bottom on first pulls like you have to with a 200tt. Every string tightened fully and the arm never went past about 4 oclock. It feels lighter to work the arm too. It’s got to be something in the new gripper thing because the dead weights are a few ounces more than the 200tt dead weights New LF clamps have diamond dust teeth. They are alot easier to adjust to string thickness with the finger dial. The swivels and locks are a big, big improvement. Alot smoother to slide around and no sticking or stammering. The tool tray is a nice addition. You don’t have to use that stupid 200tt yard stick to set tensions anymore. A royal P.I.T.A. if you use different tensions for your mains and crosses like me. The new LF has the tensions engraved right on the arm. That’s sweet. Overall, built like a little tank. Aside from it taking a long time to get, I’m very impressed with the updates over their old machines. For $600 and all the improvements, they should’ve done it a long time ago. Now I need to geta new tension caliper to check the constant pull and how accurate it is. |

Maybe it is just me, but...
A new user praising the machine no one has ever seen... Do you happen to work for LF? |

Yeah, the "Posts: 1" looks pretty suspicious.

haha oh man. It would make sense they would make a user name and start posting here. When I first made my order I told them about how their reputation has pretty much went down the toilet. I told them last week I'd be on here again to agree with everybody about how crappy of a company they've become. WE WANT SUM PICS TIM... i mean seth haha.

You've got to be kidding me? My initial thought was also post#1 and suddenly this great machine appears on his doorstep. No posts griping about the long wait and convoluted stories. But, then I though "no way anyone would stoop to this". Unless this guy jumped to the head of the line, it seems highly unlikely that this post is credible. We'll see...

Anyone live in Rhode Island and want to go take a look at the business? RI is not that big. Take pics and let us see what is going on in there.

A while back, someone else used it. So I bookmarked the pictures location, to have it readily available.
I also have this: ![]() Another good one to have.

I don't think Tim would try something that embarrassing and obvious. Much like when I first went down on flames on the old board, a counterfeit "me" suddenly appeared and started posting true-to-form mockumentary style stuff. I even had one poster contact me and say is it true you wrote all those mean things about me, and being all dissapointed in me and such.
Long story short, I think this is just a well-positioned troll attempt...and NOT Tim or Laserfibre in any way. There are people believe it or not who sit around waiting for golden opportunities to troll such as this. I don't know why they get a kick out of it, but they apparently think it's rich. |

Then again, you probably wouldn't have thought that he would repeatedly lie about personally packing and shipping the machines, would you? I think his character is pretty well established based on his own actions. Nothing should be a surprise at this point.
