Haha... This is the sad future of online transactions between buyer and seller.

Tennis warehouse as an escrow service? What a nightmare.

I just spent over 1 hour and finished reading this whole thread.
As it seems there is no material conclusion of whether the scammers have been caught/punished or not. Does the OP get the rackets back?

Good eye, Bruno.

How did as you confirm it was him?

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/spo/994836471.html

Well known SCAMMER Charlie sounds kind of desperate for cash. Claims to be quitting tennis. Good Riddance, Chuck.

I wonder how many of these rackets are stolen

Also, who takes pics of a racket covered with head tape? Bet it is all scraped up underneath.
What a jerk.

Take your pick.

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/search/s...&neighborhood=

Looks like one of the ads is for the Microgel Extremes he was supposed to send to the OP, Topspin Man.

Hey Trevor, why don't you arrange to trade with Charlie. ;o)

Perhaps, it is Charlie, but Nguyen, for the Vietnamese, is like Smith or Jones for Anglos. And there are about a million Viets in California.

Union City is a bit of a drive from Charles' stomping grounds, San Jose. Probably another Nguyen. Charlies seems to prefer SF Craigslist to fleabay.

Kind of sad that scumbags like this get to live in ~$1,000,000 homes: http://www.zillow.com/homes/map/3246...,-CA-95135_rb/
Hopefully his parents kicked him out and disowned him over the negative attention he's directed toward them.

this is total bs...if I live near there, I'd go to the house and tell his parents the story, get the sticks and send them back to topspin man.

hey guys

thanks for all the support

for those of you who asked what the outcome was,

it was simply nothing.

there was nothing that i could do, i contacted police in australia and they said they couldnt really do anything

and through that, i didnt bother to contact the cops in u.s cause i presume they would have done nothing anyway

so basically, i got scammed - and there was nothing that i do

and i guess through this experience, it has left me with a sour taste in my mouth given that a lot of ppl say that i should only trade with people who have good feedback etc - well charles had good feedback

i guess sometimes its luck of the draw - dealing with people you dont know, especially international

and so many times i have wanted to buy stuff from tennis talk but just this experience has rendered me paralyzed

nothing that i can really do

anybody living near him, like to pop him a visit? =P
