Default The Oversize Racquet Club

This is a sign up club for oversize users. Listed on this first post will be a constant update on which OS users are using what. Good to know, right? Oh yeah I am also seeing some new faces recently (as of 22 may 09) that talked about OS. Come join here.

After totally being a lazy a%% for almost a year, I am ressurecting this for an update.

Oversize for me is anything from 105 sq Inches onwards. Yeah the Sq inches is kinda sketchy, but I think 105 is a fair number.

My experience has been that I play my best with oversize racquets. I can use the forgiveness, the power, and the softer feeling from the Nblade OS. *update* Forgiveness is not as important as feel now.

I have tried Mids and soem midplus, but I dont see any benefits. I could probably try to get used to them, but I think I can better spend time improving my game by paying more attention to footwork and the basics.

So that's my experience. Come, eh, sign in, join the club, and stuff.

I find nothing wrong with oversize racquets, fro as you said the forgiveness etc.
Although most OS racquets are head heavy( with the exception of the Nblade OS)

But I've found once your technique is up to scratch, switching to a smaller head size is beneficial, for the ability to swing freely with more control

What is the downside to oversize? I have problems with tennis elbow and am thinking of getting an oversize to help. A bigger sweet spot is also a nice incentive.

I'm gonna call 105 sq inches and above as OS. It's just a hunch. There's gotta be a cut off line somewhere right?

Guys it'd be nice if all of yous give your Racquet model and brand, as well as the string and tension.

I will edit and put in OP.

Then after this if anyone ever needs to ask about an OS stick, they can look at the list in the OP and then proceed to contact the relevant user of such sticks.

I'm using Prince TT Vendetta OS. 110 sq. in. and 16x19 makes for much spinniness.

My wife likes to use a 115 or 118. I typically use a smaller size.

I use the Kneissl Black Star with the heavier buttcap insert. Strung with SPPP pure at 56 lbs. Great racquet. I use it mostly for armfriendlieness and some forgiveness. It is fairly low powered for its headsize.

I have 2 old oversized frames, as original Donnay Pro-One oversize, and a single striped POG oversize. They are both wonderful frames.

The Donnay was one of my frames growing up (the other being a 90" Prince frame that has broken). The Prince was my mother's frame in the 80's.

See it's good to know that even sticks from the TT days are still getting some love.

Keep em coming folks!

Well I have about 30 racquets of all shapes and sizes from mids to OS's but when the chips are down and I have a important match its always the TT Bandit OS that comes out of the bag.

Very forgiving
AWESOME spin
beautiful feel
Dream at net.
Awesome slice serve
While not a regular control racquet I can still control the ball better with this than my mids because of the extreme spin.

I have tried heaps of other OS's and never found anything that compares to the old bandit. So I'm not sure its the head size that does it for me, just a special racquet. 27.5inch helps to I think.

Few grams of lead and full blue gear at 67lbs. Cant beat it.
