Missing Kaka is also huge for them as he is controlling most of their attacks by doing the simple little passes and occasional burst of speed to open up space for everyone else. Without him doing that and Ronaldo prodicing magic they're in my opinion just an above average squad rather than a potential multiple-trophy winning squad. |

Alright boys...
Anyone catch the cup matches today? I saw the second half of Liverpool-Arsenal, and I wasn't disappointed. Aqualani looked quality from the second he stepped on the pitch, a bit more attack-minded than Alonso but still a brilliant passer and has a great ability to control the flow of the game. If I was Rafa, I'd throw him in Gerrard's position behind Torres and put Gerrard in the center of the park. On a side note, I can see why Ryan Babel is on the chopping block at Anfield, he made Voronin (who wasn't very productive) look good. He's absolutely useless.

Another good win tonight, that's 13 goals in a week with none against.
We've gone 13 hours of football without letting one in at home and have the most clean sheets so far! all this from a team who are supposed to be a defensive mess |

Vladi Weiss and Michael Johnson are going to be City legends one day. Amazingly talented products of our academy!
In a few years Hart, Nedum, Richards, Weiss, Ireland, and Johnson could all be starting as first team regulars which would be absolutely great for the club. As for the Cup as long as we don't get Chelsea away I won't be too worried, though I probably should be as our quarterfinal curse never seems to fail.. |

Ok boys, what did we all take away from Spurs-Arsenal?
For one thing, I feel bad for Spurs, they were decent for the first 30 or so and then Arsenal shifted up a few gears and Fabregas absolutely destoryed them! Arshavin was good, Arsenal were only able to hang in there in the first half due to his raw energy and desire to score. Not as good as some (myself included) predicted he'd be today, but still effective, and served as a catalyst for the rest of the team to pick up the pace and score. For another thing, I have to admit that I'm eating my words as we speak on the topic of Bakary Sagna. For all the trash I throw at him and for all that I critisize him for, he was impressive as hell today. Very good in the back, and his passing through the midfield was excellent. RVP was awesome, obviously. I still have Cesc as my man of the match, his passing was spot-on and he really took the game to Spurs. The ref was who I think had the worst time out on the pitch, how could he not give Bently a yellow for that challenge early on? Props to him for allowing play to really flow today, but he should have asserted his athourity a bit more often and much earlier as well. Any thoughts or rants from anyone else?

There is a fine line between playing hard and playing dirty, and Bolton may have crossed that line v. Chelsea. Blue shirts are going down all over the place, and fouls aren't being called. And they're not just falling, they're getting pulled down by Bolton's men.

Liverpool have just gotten smacked around 3-1 at Fulham. If United loose today I think I'll crap my pants with laughter.

And Villa will go 4th. City, 6th. But a lot of the season is left, I'm curious to see exactly how the rest of the big 4 handles the pressure. I still think Chelsea will pip Arsenal for the title, but if United drop points today, Liverpool still has an outside shot.

[quote=Breaker;4069502]That's just how the English game is played, just about every team in England is like that. QUOTE]
I've seen the English game plenty of times (plenty!) and this was one of the roughest I've seen in a while.

On a different CFC matter... I'm still getting accustomed to seeing Deco buzzing around and doing his thing. And though I don't watch your lot week in and week out, he's impressed me when I have seen him. But what's your verdict/opinion Fena? He used to be such a sublime player? Reckon he can be like that still consistently or is he really just a 'fits and starts' player (albeit a once phenomenally gifted player) right at the very tail-end of a decent career? R. |

I think Joe Cole and Deco will be rotated in that position so both players should stay quite fit for the whole season, considering Deco isn't as young as he used to be and Joe Cole is known for his injuries, that's probably a good thing. |

He grew up as a Chelsea fan, stood in the stands, he was even a ball boy at Stamford Bridge! He'd play for Chelsea for free if they asked him. |
