So the Community Shield at Villa Park for the first trophy of the season, then Wigan away for the best pies in the league and 3 points to set us off to getting the title back
Hopefully the League is as entertaining next year as it was last season. Would be great to be in the mix at the end this time round! |

Transfer speculation is mounting (and what a great fit this would be)... Pullis and Stoke are apparently putting in a bid for David Nalbandian...

I'd prolly take Blanc. AVB maybe needs to go learn a few more years.
Not sure how well Blanc understands the style of play over here. Granted he was a bit past it when he played for Utd and a good deal slower than he was in his prime.

It just seems to get from bad to worst for Blackburn fans, a football pundit as the new director of football.

TBH I personally don't have a clear preference, I'd possibly just edge it towards AVB. Not sure...

Glad to see the boys get Italy in the next round!
Looked very shaky in the first half but Wazza came good fairly quickly and should look even better at the weekend. I understand the importance of keeping your shape and whatnot but England are boring as hell to watch now. I realize Roy's job is to not provide entertainment for me but by the 2nd half I decided to go back to working on my Excel spreadsheet and relegated the game to the background. Either way, I like the results he's getting.

We don't quite have the extra quality technically to hurt teams in that way. The players are very talented, but I don't think they've had the technical coaching they needed as youngsters. Players from other Countries have it ingrained in them as kids and it just comes naturally to them now. Hodgson knows this and instead concentrates on being organised and trusting the defence, which was fantastic tonight (Terry and Lescott have formed a nice little partnership). I agree about it not being too good to watch, as a Chelsea fan i'm used to it though |

On the day PSG bid £43 Million, it's not going to happen. Chelsea weren't happy at £38 Million, so they won't match that. I wonder if that means they might go back in for Falcao? |

I thought it was hands down their worst, ugliest display of the Euros. Your prioritizing of the Excel spreadsheet says it all - LOL!

Loads of people making comparisons with greece and denmark yet fail to realise that those two teams could actually play football.

Greece could defend and score from corners. That was about it iirc.

Had a tennis match last night, it was a long one and didnt make it back for the second half as Id hoped. Heard the score at the end and the usual moaners at the club which I took as oath after watching the first two horror performances.
This morning, cuppa tea in hand and the computer on ITV player I watched it all in the safety of objectivism knowing quite well we had won the group. Well, I actually thought it was our most cohesive performance, I thought we played very well. Even in the first half we had a few chances to have made it look very easy, just a few loose killer passes and a lack of composure at times in the last third. Ok the goal was over the line but the linesman had missed two offsides one a header that Ukraine should of scored and the other leading up to their non goal. The downside to me was Milner and Welbeck, dont get me wrong they had decent enough games I just think we have better options in Oxy/Walcott for Milner and Carroll for Welbeck, they just bring more options going forward. Dont agree with the Milner 'protection' for Johnson scenario, he's a filler infront anyone can do it. Rooney didnt have a great game but there were signs of the link up that we need and the fact that he should probably hae had a hatrick of headers. On a plus note (sorry Fena) Stevie G was immense, controlled the game and anything that was good for England generally came thro him. We do however need him to let loose now and again and really make things happen in the last third. Thats why I initially plumped for Jones alongside as he's quite adept at picking the ball off the back four, a very talented player imo, it just means Gerrard cant be in two places at the same time, picking the ball off the defenders and recieving it from the player picking the ball off the defenders On the plus side of that tho, Parker played really well. Same team but with Walcott and Carroll and we'll beat the Italians. After a lengthy bout of apathy, Im suddenly feeling hopeful which usually results in defeat. STAY APATHETIC ENGLAND ALL THE WAY TO LIFTING THE CUP !!!!

I'm seriously wondering if my view on matches is completely altered from being in noisy pubs?!... I seem to have watched a different match to others - LOL!

Would love to see Ashley Young, & Milner not starting next game. Thought Gerrard is great but Parker had big problems in the first half.

I thought we were complete turd in the first two games, looking like they were told what to do and it was running thro the player's brains continually, getting body in position but not really doing anything with the ball. Its easy to get swayed in pubs by the overwhelming feeling of uuuuuuuuuhhhh when something doesnt come off and the negativity. What I liked about yesterday was there was a plan, we stuck at it and the was a certain cohesion in our play. If it wasnt for the rooney miss and a couple of good opportunities other teams would have scored from we could have run out easy 4-0 winners, playing defensively yet decisive infront of goal. I didnt see that in the first two matches, players looked nervous. Thats what gives me some hope.
