In the last two weeks alone we've had two apologies from newspapers about stories that turned out to be fakes, the argument between Benitez and Terry + the supposed "leaked" team briefing notes before the Wigan game. It's funny that both were big back page stories when they were written, but the apologies were written in a tiny corner stuck in the middle, forgotten pages So yes, Chelsea do do alot for the local community. I'm not really sure how much that has to do with Abramovich though. |

Agree, but suicidal tactics again today.
1-0 up, dominating, yet being caught undermanned at the back every time we lost possession. Really couldn't make it easier for the opposition. Every time we lost the ball outside of Villa's area they would get to our area without any of our players getting within 10 yards of any of theirs, and usually a numerical advantage. If we continue like this with no defensive midfielder Bale will absolutely destroy us on the counter. Another blunder for Szczesny - he needs to shape up and fast. |

Diabystarted the season well but since coming back from injury, he's looked really poor. Thought we did a bit better once Rambo came on.
Giroud, what can I say, takes too many shots to hit the target, 16 percent, not good enough.

Congrats to Swansea and most definitely Laudrup. I've liked how he's been doing things things since the moment he arrived at Swansea, and I wonder how he'd fare with a top 6 side. Could be worth trying to poach him if you were, say, Everton or Arsenal.

If Arsene goes to Real Madrid as director of football or to head the youth academy as they've always wanted, then Laudrup should be the #1 target, and if signed, should be given all the money Arsene was never willing to spend.

Thiught i was rewarching the bayern gsme from earlier this week with city playing the bayern role.
Nice to see city really go for it. If augero had any touch today, it would have been four nil. Next up, go hammers but doubt that happens, wonder if spurs can catch city for 2nd.

Not a huge lead by any stretch of the word but I don't think piping City and getting 2nd is just not going to happen. It's possible though but I doubt it. It's probably as realistic of Athletico overtaking Barcelona's 6-point gap atop La Liga within the 11 matches still to play.......well, almost as realistic.

I hope Spurs fans are saving up their air miles, looks like they will be needing them for a few Champions League games next year

Another great goal from our very own Van Persie>Ronaldo>etc sets us up nicely as we come to the business end of the season. Arsenal game is massive of course. But even if the wheels were to come off in this 1 game a bit (AFC always seem to up their game several notches against us), I do not foresee a Redknapp-style all out 2 month collapse on the cards... just need to keep 'player of the year' Gareth Bale fit... and playing up the middle more probably!

Good to hear to Barcelona being destroyed. Together with their likely elimination next week that can a nice wake up call so that they realise that their weakened defense and their over reliance in Messi is ruining their season.

Interestingly, they had a meltdown at the end of last season too where they fell out of several competitions over the space of 10 days. Last year could of been a one off, but if they lose to Milan then it seems like it's becoming a bit of a habit. |

With all that being said, Puyol needs to call it a day. Di Maria made him look stupid on that second goal.
