Is poly really as hard as I think it is to use with a rotational gripper? Because I really want to get an electric machine but Ive been hearing poly is hard to use with a rotational. But some linear grippers are just too expensive and I dont want to get a Wise because I dont want to worry about two different orders. So if rotational grippers arent that hard to use with rotational grippers I will just get that otherwise I will have to do some impressive convincing to get probobly an Silent Partner Aria versus a DG

P.S. Zach seems to be a really credible guy based on my experience here. So I would take his advice at face value. Last edited by Il Mostro : 08-10-2008 at 06:30 PM. |

There is another guy on these boards you have probably heard of... Nick B. He knows a great deal about poly strings - plays with them and strings with them. I checked out his site the other day and noticed he uses a machine with a "traditional" rotational gripper (not like the modified rotational gripper on the Aria). I know he strings poly all the time for himself and his customers, and I have never read of any instances where his machine has caused problems.
If you want to reach out to him directly, check out his site - www.nickbondtennis.com. Take care. |

It's not that hard. It can be a little springy just from being stiff, but for me that's never translated into an issue.
