College help

I´m going to the states from january 2010, so I know its pretty early.
But I thought it would be a good place to ask about the universities I have looked at.
At my new school they have a partner list, so I have been looking at some of them, which is:

Boise State University
University of Arkansas
University of Alabama
University of Purdue
University of South Florida
University of Greensboro
University of Illinois

Can anyone tell me a little about those places, both academically, but i bit more important, the tennis.
I think that Illinois might be too good for my level, as they have had both Kevin Anderson and Ryler DeHeart recently.
But in which divison do they play, and what is their rep etc

Hope anyone can help me

Alright, here goes:

Boise State University: VERY good team, Clancy Sheilds is their #1 player, he's nasty.
University of Arkansas: Don't know
University of Alabama: VERY good as well, I've seen a few of their videos on YouTube, good quality team
University of Purdue: Don't know
University of South Florida: Since they are a team in Florida, they must be quite good. That's all I know.
University of Greensboro: Don't know, but since this is the south, they must be pretty good.
University of Illinois: Downright NASTY. I've seen them play against Ohio State, they've got some insanely talented players.

Oh Purdue is decent.... they are not a powerhouse like U of I.

If you really like Illinois, then you may want to try the University of Illinois at Chicago.

They have a couple of people from Norway on the team.... and they aren't as strict as U of I Urbana-Champaign.

I think you should browse TennisRecruiting.net for info about the tennis level of different colleges. Click on "Men's Teams" on the left and you will see a list of all conferences and teams in NCAA Division I. When you click on the name of a conference, you can see what kind of ******** committed to the schools in that conference. You can browse back for the last 4-5 years by clicking the years.

The top American ******** are Blue Chips, then 5-stars down to 1-star and unranked. International players receive no such ranking and could fall anywhere in this range. If you want to find out who has actually been playing, Google "Boise State athletics" for example, then find their tennis team pages. You can find a "Schedule and Results" link for most schools. The results from matches will let you know who typically plays #1 singles, #2, down to #6, and you can find out how the international ******** fit into the lineup.

Post again if any of this does not make sense.

purdue has a strong tradition of tennis, they used to be pretty good, but lately they have fallen off a bit to the bottom of the big 10. They did get a top 50 recruit this year and they are still in a big time d1 power conference.

Arkansas is decent I got to see one of their new ******** a few weeks ago hes solid 4 star rated, so they are a good team, but no Florida or UGA in the SEC

What does it mean on the tennisrecruiting site if the rating is a country flag?

International r-e-c-r-u-i-t-s are not rated. The USA r-e-c-r-u-i-t-s all play against each other in USTA tournaments so that computer rankings are possible. Not so for internationals.
