I suggest you search using this facility: http://tennislink.usta.com/tournamen...le/Search.aspx Search under Florida section and restrict by age group where necessary. If you find some local tournaments it is worth contacting the organiser directly to see if you need to sign up for the USTA (equiv of the LTA). Any questions, post back. |

Good luck in Florida. I've only played there twice, so I'm not very experienced with their players. But I do know that it's EXREAMLY hot!

Hey, its not that bad in the winter, around 60-85 degrees. Anyway, you are coming down at the right time.
Good luck! |

Moz and others - What is the standard like? Do you recon I would be able to compete/win? I dont wanna play some local tournament where I win it without dropping a game nor some tournament where I get thrashed. Do I need to qualify for bigger events? That sounds like something big. I recomend that you do a super series, the largest tournament before the designateds (tourneys that require a nice ranking). Those tourneys have good players.

Actually he will be able to play 16s and under because he is still 16 and until August 2009 he should be able to play in any tournament in the US 16 and under. Anyways when you sign up for the tournament it will show you which events you can sign up for.
