Kuerten served 47 aces in 5 sets against Daniel Nestor in a Davis Cup match in 2003 (and somehow he managed to lose!)

16 - Goran Ivanisevic (1994 Wimbledon F 1st set vs Sampras 6-7[2])
16 - Pete Sampras (2000 Aus Open SF 4th set vs Agassi 6-7[5])
13 - Pete Sampras (1995 Aus Open F 4th set vs Agassi 4-6)

11 - Pete Sampras (1995 US Open F 4th set vs Agassi 7-5)
10 - Pete Sampras (2002 US Open F 3rd set vs Agassi 5-7)

Ivanisevic, Philippoussis, Karlovic and Johansson are are going to have a few entries on this list, so if you know of any please add. Please keep it 10+ aces a set.

I know Sam Querry hit 10 in a row, but don't how how many he finished the set with. Ivanisevic had 35 in 3 sets (1996 YEC SF vs Sampras) so he should be on the list again. Sampras opened his 1998 Wimbledon match vs Enqvist with 7 straight aces, and in 1995 Grand Slam Cup had 24 aces in 2 sets P. McEnroe. Roddick hit 24 in 2 sets in Cincinnati 2005 vs Hewitt, so that puts him on the list, as does his 31 aces in 4 sets vs Hewitt in 2005 Aus Open.

Philippoussis had 29 in 3 sets vs Sampras in 1996 Aus Open, and 28 in 3 sets later that year vs Pete at Wimbeldon. Johansson's 51 aces (in 4 sets) effort vs Agassi puts him on the list, but I dont how many he had in a any singular set. The same with Krajicek's 49 aces (in 5 sets) vs Kafelnikov at the US Open.
... and 22 by roger in the (16-14) 5th set of the final of wimbledon 2009 !

Guccione served 23 aces in the third set in his Wimbledon 2005 Qualifying match, and 50 aces overall (three sets)

Flipper hit 44 aces in a 3 set match (which was a record at the time) IF I recall correctly. so set(s) from that match must be on the list. I also think he served 20 aces against Schalken at Wimbledon in one set.

Each set is like a car gradually accelerating to full speed. 11 aces, 12 aces, 13 aces, 15 aces, and finally 27 aces.

At Wimbledon 2010, wouldn't Isner or Mahut have to have a LOT of aces in set 5. Yeah, I know, it's not a normal set by any means and the ace rate (aces per game) is probably not any higher than other examples given here, but the total number of aces must have been pretty high.

What about Curren's quarter- or semi-final matches against Connors and McEnroe at the 1985 Wimbledon? He must have served a high number of aces in those matches.
