Default Customer Service question

Right, got a Q for anyone who strings for people- I strung two badmintonb racquets for a customer, just got back and she has messaged me saying she has cut the string out as the head became rounder and she compared it to a friends and it wasnt the same- I strung it at a normal tension and in my opinion did a good job on the frames, took my time and didn't cut corners? What am I supposed to do now?

Say 'Sorry' and offer to redo for cost of string? FWIW, check frame length and width before and after mounting. It's a quick and easy check because it appears (if the customer is correct) that the frame was not secure at the throat and tip, so the frame got 'squashed.'

Since you have no way of comparing the two racquets, it's difficult to say which one had issue(s). I would appologize to the customer and offer a special price for next stringing job to the customer, if the customer is willing to come back. Good luck

Were you using a 2 point or a 6 point mount? Also did you string bottom-up or top-down?

I put 2 lbs more on the crosses to prevent that the racket gets rounder.

Add 2lbs extra tension to the cross strings, you could also pre weave as many crosses as possible, string bottom up.

Don't add 2 pounds are you going to change the tension she wants! If she can notice the shape of the racquet of course she can feel the tension change! Gimme a breaK!!!

You should do in 1 piece! When you string a racquet in 2 piece e other one in 1 piece the shapes are different!

Depends on which typenof racket do you have. Yonex rackets should be strung in two pieces. Victor rackets in one piece. I strung all my rackets with 2 lbs more on the crosses. The head shape is good after strining.

FYI: Victor says for the crosses: first 5 crosses (bottom) with the same tension as the mains. Then add 2 lbs. Last 4 crosses reduce it to the tension of the mains.

most badminton patterns follow the yonex pattern which states 2 piece stringing
with bottom up x start,if stringing mains and cross tension the same produces a deformed racquet then the answer is to string crosses higher,

If you are confident that you did a good job on her rackets, don't do anything. How do you know her friend's racket is right? You don't.

Some customers are a pain in the butt, way too picky/psycho and not worth the grief. She sounds like one of those. Do yourself a favor and lose her. Let some other poor stringer deal with her nonsense. There are legitimate gripes and then there are nonsensical complaints. If someone has a legitimate gripe, take care of it. If not, don't even bother to respond except to say you strung the racket to spec using conventional, established methods and let them go torture another stringer with their nonsense. The customer is not always right (unless they are a huge customer and you have to humor them for economic reasons.)
