Hey! Look who snuck in a nice backhand on us Even though I am not a big fan of the takeback, I can't fault it too much because your shot has come a long way in a short amount of time.

Very good job. You can and will always have some little things to work out or work on, but you seem to have gotten some of the good basics worked out.

Congrats. And yes, the racquet is beautiful. Now you may just have that BH to support it

I am going to have to practice moving backwards from the baseline to the service box. Here is video of latest form just practiced it today and after just like 10 minutes I had to stop my legs were hurting all the small foot work that I am not used. So what you guys think of the form?

Takeback: While your backhand has improved, the takeback is the same, if not bigger.

Movement: You are crossing over with the inside leg (left for a lefty) and then moving to the ball, a common problem for most one handers. The weight should be loaded on the right leg in your final preparation position so that you can transfer it to the left as you step into the shot.

The final preparation position should look something like this, reversed for you, of course.

You really need to work on that takeback. It is terrible, too much, over done, and will hurt you in the long run. You need to possess exceptional skill to use that backswing as you improve and play better players and on different surfaces.

Your takeback should mainly be the shoulder turn and as your racquet is back, you raise the hand back and up slightly for momentum. You are turning while raising your hitting hand high in the air at near shoulder level.

Excellent post I was figuring this out on my own but you made it very clearer. My foot work was awkward due to not transffering the weight like in the pictures so I was getting jammed by some backhands when I was on the run or the backahnds were a little high. I was turning too early, the last step is to turn and then tranffer my weight to left foot and swing through. True what they say a picture is worth a thousand words.
