The more of a pure S&V you are the heavier you tend to "need" your racket, but in todays game there is not much S&V.

However you have to understand that the heavier the racket and the higher the SW you become more and more vulnerable at the basline, so you can not have both it is one or the other.
The basic physics of mass and momentum would appear, at least on the surface of things, not to agree with you. A freight train hits a ball harder than a cotton ball, regardless of where the mass is distributed.

Why would a heavy racquet make you vulnerable at the baseline?

I don't think it makes ME, vulnerable at the baseline.

I have general incompetence for that, no need for a racquet to do the job I can do on my own.

With you on that one. Have racquets I like. They're a nice weight. The thing that kills me on the baseline at the moment is my horrific footwork. If I could only move my feet... instead of staring at the pretty shot coming at me.

Well then you are missing the most important aspect of baseline rallying aren't you?

I didn't know this either, but swingweight is actually measured in kg*cm^2, not in grams. Often just referred to as swingweight units/unitless.

Count me in!! Um, well, I mean, can I join? (see sig)

And, yea, I agree w/ JRog. Heavy stick doesn't make me vulnerable- if any, it makes the guy on the other end vulnerable. He's the one who has to suffer through the onslaught of heavy topspin tennis balls...

Yes, but it's not the racquet's fault. Footwork is coming. I'm turning a corner. Just been playing too much doubles lately.

I thought I was already in this club. My MG prestige pro weighs in a tad over 13 ounces. IF I get in better shape, I probably will add a more weight.

I HAVE to play with a heavy frame. Learned this the hard way. I have a k90 on the way and a demo in the bag.
