Go V! If Li Na beats Raddy tonight, it'd be the first time I watch a WTA match and cheer for both this year.

Great match between Venus and Sam. One of the things I truly liked about this match was that there was no coach running down to the court every changeover telling them what to do. Both Venus and Sam had to figure things out for themselves and they put on a good match for the crowd. Learn from that Woz!

Serena is 64-4 since Stanford last year. Wow didn't realise she had been THAT consistent.

Since Wimbledon this year she is 31-0 in singles and doubles matches.

Not a good start for Serena. 0-2, mostly on unforced errors.

Not televised and no streams unfortunately. The stats sound great though. No DFs and only 1 break point for Larsson (which Li saved).

Serena just slammed her racquet down, she isn't looking great today. Damn. I was kind of hoping it would be a Williams final. At least she's showing some fire.

Serena is not having a great day at the office. Kerber is being Kerber, getting everything back and playing solidly from the baseline. Serena is not serving well and not returning well.

I'm so sick of the constant chatter of the ESPN crew. It's as though they're afraid if there is silence for any period of time. Sometimes you have to let the tennis speak for itself. We all can see that Serena is not playing well, but Shriver, Fernandez and Fowler are going through all kind of contortions to determine why. Shut up already!

I am usually one defending announcers here, but this crew is pretty indefensible.

Lol Serena can be such a hot mess sometimes.

Kerber won 60 points total, 33 of Williams UE. I can safely say that was Serena's worst match this year, her peformance was dire, yet she still had a very real chance of winning.

I dont want to take away from Kerber at all though. She has so many positive points.

1. Amazing defense, and hitting forceful, angles shots on the run.

2. Redirects pace beautifully and mixes up her speed and spins well.

3. Very composed and even mentally.

Her run reminds me a little of Wozniacki's 2010 run, except Kerber seems to have better movement and more shots available to her.

Serena was comically dire but you gotta give Angie her credit? How many other of these Generation suck's can say they have beaten Serena/Venus/Kim/Sharapova within a 6 month timeframe?

Yeah, she seems to hit with purpose (unlike Woz), even if the majority of the pace is her opponents' most of the time.

Aga has really been struggling against big hitters recently. First Goerges at the olympics and now she is getting thrashed by Li for the second week in a row.

Aga is struggling...she is making a lot of simple tactical errors that are frustrating to watch. Her usual "aganess" seems to be MIA. But then again Li is in god mode, this is the 2nd time in 2 weeks she has had to play two matches in one day and she is making it look effortless. The way she is playing now, she will be a contender for the US Open, and after last year I cannot believe I am saying that.
