That word may be a bit indelicate. Let's just say "heavy". And I really don't think that Serena's movement is her forte but that was not really my point. Last time I made that observation for myself was about Clijsters and sure enough, she hurt herself that very tournament. Obviously, it becomes more and more of an issue as the player ages.

Actually Victoria doesn't care about crowds, she booed the French Open crowd at the end of her match in 2009 against Suarez Navarro when they were actively trolling her as per usual in this tournament.

Victoria is the type of player who really really likes opposition, fight [...] and this is one of the many reasons why people don't really like her because she doesn't care a f-ck about them (e.g., what they think) and does whatever she feels like however she feels like. The medias etc. love to know you care about their sh-t because it gives them a sensation of control not with Victoria.

I don't really fear for Victoria in the F from that aspect.

I like/adore that.

Really? Thanks for explaining. I didn't realize that. Personally, I don't think she did anything wrong in the semi. She won it fair and square. Stephens was missing too much. I'm really looking forward to that final. I think it will be much better than a Serena/Shara would have been.

Azarenka got heavily booed for tanking the match against Bartoli in the 2011 YEC. I root for Azarenka, but she deserved the booing that time.

That true. I don't think the crowd being for Li will matter to her. I really want Li to win and honestly believe she can, but I can also easily see Azarenka winning as well.

Yes but this match went invisible because I think it was a 2nd or 3rd round on some outer but high profile court.

Well yes, Serena/Sharapova matches are very ugly but Sharapova's matches anyways a pretty ugly against any really decent opponent who has the abilities to expose her one-dimensional game.

I think also that the F will be relatively competitive. Li and Victoria almost always play competitive matches though out of the last 4 won by Victoria only 2 actually were.

Good, let's hope Azarenka loses regardless of whether she cares about crowd support or not.

The more things change, the more they stay the same. Li Na mirrored her 2011 AO final, but this time injuries had to rear their ugly head too.

on the upside, the li na went on to win the next slam she played after losing in the final that year...so as bill murray would say "she's got that going for her"!

apparently, what HBT said is absolutely correct. Aza really does not care. The entire stadium was rooting for Li Na to win, but it did not penetrate Aza's protective rhinoseros skin. Yes, that may make her a rotten human being, and I agree with you about hoping she loses, but it also makes her the toughest beotch to be world no. 1 that I've ever seen.

not sure how long she's been this way, but gotta give the devil her due!

If Serena can get her s*** together at RG she will take what is rightfully hers from the witch known as Vika.

All more reasons to like her, as she disregards the kind of whiners/sheltered types seen on this board.

Li should be back on the list. New coach and all still a huge headcase in big matches.

Azarenka is still a non-factor at RG. Serena was a huge favorite to win RG last year, but imploded against Razzano. Serena hasn't seen a SF at RG since 2003. Her fitness is the main issue when playing there. Even then, Sharappova/Li/Kuznetsova/Errani and a few others have equal or better odds than Serena there.

Li's been consistent at the AO the past 4 years. SF, F, 4th round choke, F. I don't think Li choked in the final. Rolled her ankle twice which took away her agility. Not much she could do in that situation against a semi-pusher except go for her shots.

I think Li should do well in the spring leading up to RG. This might be her last real shot to win another major. I wanted her to win the AO since that's clearly the major she likes the most. Also her region's major and she's the anti-Stosur even with all the Chinese supporters there.
