I totally agree. It is a racquet that keeps you from playing lazy tennis.

That is the way it felt...loved it. I was really surprised how well it volleyed. I was super impressed with that side of the stick. I was not expecting much from it, but it really made it's mark. I was able to not only hit touch volleys, but also stick deep volleys too. Great stick! I ordered three tonight!

I am playing tomorrow and Monday and Tuesday, so I got a nice run coming up. Still playing around with tension in the stick. I think I like 58 right now...not sure. |

I'll have to test what tension I'll need. I usually use low 60s for my other racquet, but I've read that this will not work on this racquet

Using Lux BB Fluro 17 @ 51 mains, Tecnifibre NRG 17 @ 56 crosses.
Loving it.

Went for a hit today with my oldest son (14 yr old) who is hitting the ball very well now. We used new balls and the Pure Storm LTD was connecting with them beautifully.
I am used to the extra weight now and I could really whip some topspin drives, the PS LTD was ripping the balls with serious spin. And there is nothing like centering a full blooded flat drive deep into a corner. It really does have the sweetest of sweet spots. Wish I was better player and could hit that spot more often. Hitting a firm volley is just bliss.

Just to chime in: I strung mine with Bab Hurricane Pro 18ga. in the mains @ 52lbs and Wilson Sensation 18ga. in the crosses @ 54 lbs. I don't believe I could handle it any tighter.

Yeah, any higher than 55lbs would be too much for me. My serve is down on power which may be a result of a less than ideal action. I probably got away with 'arming' the ball more with my Wilson ncode. Might try some lead tape at 9 and 3 and/or lower tension slightly.

I am still playing with the tension...I just restrung it at 58 with Signum Pro Poly in the mains and Wilson Sensation in the crosses. That is my normal blend but never strung a stick below 62 before, this is uncharted territory for me! lol. The demo I got was strung at 56 with syn gut and it felt great. So I am not sure what to expect from the stick at this tension. But I am loving the stick...it just hits ground strokes like butta! I have not had this kind of placement on my shots in a long long time. I can't believe the spin I can generate on them as well...especially for an 18x20 design. The Microgel Prestige at the same patter was really tough to juice with spin. Volleying with this stick continues to be a total delight too...it is just crisp.
I have some big hits coming up the next few days, so looking forward to seeing how it handles some players that really put some pop on the balls. I have a match tomorrow night with a great 5.0 that hits the snot out of the ball. I always enjoying locking horns with him...great guy and great friend. I have gotten him a few times, but I can't wait to play him with the new stick!!! |

I found going to 18 ga helped me create more spin, especially with the denser stringing pattern. I was use to the Pure Storm, which has a more open pattern. The 18ga. also strings up tighter, hence the drop in tension.

Too bad I ordered aabout 15 sets of 17s and no 18s, I would love to try 18s. Guess I'll wait a few months

I just bought a PSL and had some rallying with it yesterday. I am really surprised that despite its strung weight of about 11.8 oz. it feels light and manouverable. I agree with some of you that this is not a lazy man's racket but it is very rewarding if you hit it right especially in groundstrokes. I think I might also have to make adjustments in string size and tension as it is factory strung with Excel 16g. At what tension do Babolat normally string the PSL racket? What is a good string set-up for 18g?

Another experience to dissuade the people who believe the racquet is too light or flimsy because of this...
Played some dubs with a recent D1 grad last weekend. Hit some cross courts with him afterwards, and while I couldn't keep up the required footwork as long as he could, the racquet played wonderfully.

This racket is money! I have been hitting with it for a few days with some steep competition (former D1, 5.0, etc players) and this stick holds its own! It is money from deep in the court, net and is serving great! I am considering pulling off the leather grip...not in love with that at the moment. Otherwise this stick is 100% money!
