The PSLGT is capable of hitting with a lot of spin. The difference you will face coming from the Aero Pro is in the low level of power provided by the PSLGT.

I would use a poly to tame a powerful racquet. In a low-powered racquet I prefer a good multi at the lowest tension possible before I start to feel any loss of the control provided by the frame. This starts to add some power to the racquet.

If you think about it, a control oriented, flexible frame combined with a multi at lower tensions is about as arm friendly as it gets.

Hey all,
I'm looking at the psl and psl gt. At the moment I have the apd gt however I have found that it is too stiff and that I am developing elbow soreness after I hit, which is a shame because I love the racquet! Would anyone who has used these racquets be able to recommend it for a baseliner who uses spin? I feel that at the moment I sometimes rely on the power of the aeropro, however, is it possible that stringing at a lower tension may give the psl comparable power? Is the swing weight very significant compared to the apd racquets and is the 'woofer' feel that I love about the aeropro and pure drive racquets noticeable? Thanks in advance.

The SW of the PSLs is quite a bit lower than the Aeropro. The Original PSL has a SW of like 304 or something like that. You can certainly get head speed with the PSL for spin. On the other hand its a 95" head. Its low powered for a purely baseline game unless you're willing to 'muscle' the ball a lot.
All that having been said,..I love the PSL, the comfort, the control, the feel, the touch,..heck,...buy it just to have in you arsenal if You can afford it.

Hey PSLians,

I was shopping around on TW and noticed that they have the non-GT PSL back on sale! Go get 'em!

It's hilarious that you just posted this, I'm picking one up tomorrow. It was one of my first "player" frames I ever had, and I regret selling it so much. They were so hard to come by, but now I can finally get the old "bumble bee" PSL back!

Scary. Fuji, once again, we are the same. The PSL was also my first 'player's frame', and also like you, I sold her and was sorry. If I hadn't just bought an AG4D100, I would also be picking up another bumble bee!

LOL! It's really freaking me out!!!

I only sold her to fund new purchases, and because I was WAY too weak to use her, but now being almost a 4.5, it seems like it was fate!

I paid something like 190 bucks for it the first time around, but now since it's only 120, it was just too good a deal to pass up!

I order one this morning strung with my old set up of PSGD 17, and I'll see if I can play it a bit better this time around.

From what it seems, I may VERY well be making the switch. I tested a few rackets the last few weeks, and nothing is feeling right, but I sure did love the feel of the PSL a few years ago...

Dude, if you're currently hitting the Redondo, KPS88, and Pres Mid, you will soooo be able to crush the PSL.

I stumbled around a bit when I first swung the PSL, but after leading it up some and dropping the tension, I loved it. It was only the arrival of the 88 that caused me to move on...

Hahaha! That's what I was thinking! Maybe now after a few years of growing almost a foot and a bit more strength in my shots, I'll be able to decimate my shots with the PSL now!

I strung at 57lbs on the mains and 55lbs on the crosses. Is this normally a good practice with the PSL? I know Volkls preform really well if the lowered crosses, but it's been so long since the PSL and I was a gear noob before...

I'm actually quite sad I couldn't stick with the KPS88, that thing was more of an arm killer then my Pure Drive with Cortex, which is a real shame. It's a fantastic stick.

I used X1 BP at 53# all around. 18g was do-able because of the dense bed and gave more spin and pop.

Let me know how your return to the 'bee' turns out...

For sure! I was thinking of using X1 18, but I wasn't sure if 18 was just too thin! After I tear through this set of Prince, (Duraflex lasts about 4-5 days), I'll be stringing it up with X1 18! I actually have a few sets of X1 laying around my house LOL!

For sure! I honestly think that this will be a permanent switch back. Yesterday in my match I was swinging a Volkl Organix 10 325, and the Redondo mid, and I was looking to find a medium between them, and it seems like the PSL will be quite good! Plus I am REALLY loving dense string patterns these days. Yesterday just my normal top spin forehand was great with the closed hitting deep, while the open pattern was hitting right near the service line. I was for sure over spinning it!

Yes, I think the PSL will be a good compromise between those two, just like I'm hoping the 4D100 will be somewhere between my 88 and Redondo...

I hope so! I honestly never got caught up in the Babolat Hate-Hype myself, and I'm quite excited to try it out again. UPS should be delivering her tonight....

I REALLY hope the 4D100 works out for you! I've heard some really awesome things about it! I have a friend who plays with them, and they really are sweet frames! I found it SUPER maneuverable. Perfect for doubles!

Feels great! Very smooth, think of a typical Babolat, now the complete opposite of that!

It's like a stiffer Redondo in a bit bigger of a frame! Excellent comfort!

I've even read on these threads that 18G is almost recommended in the PSL,...given the dense string bed,...AND the 95in head,...otherwise it may feel like a board,...I always string mine at 18G,...48lbs,...possibly my nicest sticks for comfort,feel,control,...Ya gotta love 'em,..
