Default Question for some of you older folks

It seems like the 80's and early 90's were the heyday of great feeling rackets. PC600 (and its variants), PS6.0 (and its variants), Max 200G (and its variants), etc. However, it seems that these are all heavy "players" frames. At that time, were any lighter, stiffer and bigger "tweeners" being produced?

They did not only produce max 200g, PS85, POG, PC600, R22, but they also made wide range of models in various weight, string pattern, stiffness, beam width

And they 90% came with nice leather grip, nice paint quality, thick palstic grommet, good cover, etc.

When these classics were new, they were considered among the stiffest frames available from each respective manufacturer. There were flexier frames available from each, and larger headed frames, but the concept of a "tweener" or "player development" frame [read="crutch"] didn't exist until the Wilson Profiles hit the market in 1988. This was the watershed event that heralded in a new era in racket design... first with ultra stiff frames, then ultra light.

yes those original wilson Keublers were amazing, unfortunately a widebody craze followed and decent midsize box beams were never seen again...

All three of those rackets (and many others at the time) were lighter, stiffer, and bigger compared to medium and heavy weighted standard head wooden rackets. The frame you failed to mention was the Prince Graphite 110, or any oversize at the time. All these frames were state of the art back then.

From '82-'88 there was a lot of experimentation going on with non-wood conventional width rackets.....mixes of graphite, boron, fiberglass, ceramics, etc.......
