i don't care if the string is blue and shoots sparks when he hits, if ron says its bb, it is.

Give it a rest, i know what i saw. Maybe Safin's racket was already strung with the Prototype and Ron didn't know about it. Sometimes pros will have just few rackets strung with the prototype since they are just testing it out.

You give it a rest. How would it already have been strung? By contractual agreement, Ron Yu is the only man in the entire world allowed to string Safin's racuqets. He strings all of Safin's frames. If it was a prototype or something different, Ron would have told us. He's an honest poster and for god's sake, knows a hell of a lot more about what he's talking about than you ever will.

Another quote from the same post you quote "depending on the light and angle, the color of BBO can range from bright yellow to caremel". End of story.

We have no such contract that allows only us to string Marat's frames. He's free to have his racquets strung by whoever he wants. We travel to the Grand Slams and Masters Series events, so he does need to get his racquets strung by others at the smaller events he plays.

My bad. I figured that since he pays you guys to customize his stuff and string it up that you guys were the only ones allowed to string his frames when you guys were there. Sorry for the mistake.

I'd like a set of these (according to Fedace) "supersecret bestest string ever new luxilon prototype" as well.

By the way Ron, do you find that most players you guys string for are using Big Banger Original or Big Banger Alu Power? From what you know, what is the more popular string between the two?

Well yes!

You see, Drakulie (you stalker), Luxilon only gave him 2 - 3 sets, so he must save it for really big matches. Assclown strings, it would appear, are few and far between....

Luxilon does have a prototype coming out. i thought that is what he had. I don't know for a fact what string he has but i was told by Luxilon from their website contact that they do have a prototype coming out soon.

Nick, in the interview with TW from IW this year(it's on youtube) Nate Ferguson said that all their guys either use BBO or ALU in some form: some as a full job and some as a hybrid. Off the top of my head, I think alu might be a touch more popular with their contracted players: Murray, Djokovic, Fed, and Gonzo, are the main ones I believe.

Nick, I think you would find that alu edges out all other polys overall for the entire pro field as well. Luxilon publishes a list of ALL the pro's and their stringing preferences (including all brand names) and I believe over 55% (it may be higher) use some form of lux product with regular ALU power being the most popular.

Hey guys, Fedace might be considered a clown and whatever, i'm not one to judge, but i thought the exact same thing as him when I was watching the Safin/Hewitt match.

When he sat down at the change of ends and put his racquet down I immediately thought: "Those strings are different..."

I've watched a lot of Safin matches over the years and have never even given a second thought when looking at his racquets.

Maybe it was the light and the angle, maybe it wasn't, but during that 2nd set against Hewitt his strings definitely stood out more than usual. During play, at change of ends, those strings just stood out all the time.
