Blake/Querrey won the doubles in Houston over the weekend. 6th career dubs title for James (1st since 04), and 4th for Querrey.

^^^ That's great news!

I forgot to check how they did. I was a bit uncertain about them during their first round match vs. Souza/Zeballos when they lost the first set 2-6 ... but then they rallied, and they really had to fight hard, but managed to take the second set tiebreak, then the tibreak set ... Didnt see them after that but the scorelines show they really went for it .... and that's good to see!

who the heck were their opponents in the final?
Treat Conrad Huey (PHI) / Dominic Inglot (GBR)

Good news for Indian posters. Sania and Bhupathi are in the Mixed Doubles final, being played today after the women's semis.

Santiago Gonzalez(MEX)

vs.

Sania Mirza(IND)[7] /

Bhupathi/Sania won the Mixed Doubles last night 7-6 6-1

Started poorly, spraying the balls, and going down a break like 2-4
Missed a double break opportunity later.
Then finally broke back late in the set, and almost won it 7-5 (iirc). Did well in the TB (I think the oppo team made a lot of errors, too).

Bhupathi played well at the net to win a lot of points and help win both sets.

Empty stadium and I must say it hardly looked like a slam final match from the quality of play. Would have been much better to see Paes/Vesnina but they lost in the semis to the RU.

Happy for Mirza and Bhupathi ... Are mixed dubs in Olympics?

^ Yes. Sania is hoping to play in the mixed dubs in the Oly's but most likely she will have to partner with Leander (not Mahesh) since Lee has a direct entry (being in top 10).

Other news (from India, wrt Olympics) is:

1. Leander has qualified, Bhupathi has not.

2. Leander asked for Bopanna to partner him, but Bops wants to partner with Bhupathi. Indian Fed wants Bhupathi to go with Paes.

3. Leander feels Bhupathi's fitness is not good at present, so doesn't want him.

4. Communication between Leander and Bopanna not good (as seen in DC tie with Uzbek).

5. Leander cannot partner with Somdev since Somdev hasn't played for 8 months due to shoulder issues.

Looks like only one team will go this time. IF India tries to get Bopanna and Bhupathi to go as a second team, then that leaves Leander with a very weak partner.

I was quite amazed seeing Fleming/Hutchins losing yesterday vs Kukushin/Rosol after leading 2 sets to 0

that was a big shock, even bigger since they can't team up for the olympics, PLUS being beaten by a team (italian/austrian) with the same issue.

where they will face 5th seeds Robert Lindstedt and Horia Tecău ...
