Default Who could win the AO, if the top 3(4) won't make it?

Delpo? A surprising Ferrer? Tsonga? Berdy? Or an even bigger surprise?
Either way, I am looking forward to a great AO!

Del Potro I'd say, though these slow courts are tailor made for go-getter Ferrer

Raonic if top 4 didn't make it.

He has essentially beat or could beat the rest.

Nothing like taking slow courts out of the question by hitting 140+ first serves.

No way, not when he's so inconsistent. The real best bet would be Ferrer.

Berdych only has to avoid Djokovic to win the Championship, provided he isn't upset. He has shown he can beat Federer and Murray.

I like Delpo. He has the tools, and unlike anyone else, he has actually won a grand slam.

Could make the quarters if he ends up being drawn in Ferrer's half.

1. Del Po, he was showing good form towards the end of 2012.
2. Ferrer if he gets a similar draw to what happened in Bercy. I can always bet Ferrer will beat someone ranked below him and get beat by someone ranked ahead of him.
3. Raonic if he has spent his off season working hard enough on his return and his backhand.

For sure Donald Young, with his new Solico racquet, Lotto threads, and the same game; he's got the stuff...or so says JMac.

All kidding aside, Tsonga, DelPo, or Ferrer.

Why does everyone take Delpo over Ferrer? Ferrer has a 6-2 h2h against him and has won every match they played last year. He also owns Berdych, Tsonga and the other top tenners. Ferrer is really the best pick by far.

Del Potro - bad H2H with Murray and Djokovic

Ferrer -

Tsonga - not in great form, only one victory in 2012 vs top ten players

So my pick is Berdych, won Davis Cup, can beat Federer and Murray, his biggest problem is Djokovic. If he plays against Federer in the semifinals and Murray eliminate Djokovic, then he will have a chance, but certainly not so big...

We'll see what JJ can do...

surprised clarky hasn't been here yet to laugh at the idea of anyone but Djokovic winning it

If Djokovic doesn't and somehow Murray screws up and Federer can't do it either, it will be Berdych or Delpo or Tsonga.

But it will be one of the top 3

No one because Eeyore will win it. And if by some chance he gets abducted by aliens and doesn't show up, Murray or Fed will win it.

Isn't it going to be like a 100% guarantee that Murray and Federer draw the same half? The Aussie people and ten is fans in general "want" another classic 5 set final that takes forever.

I can't see why. Murray was in Djoko's half last year and in Nadal's half pretty much every year before that (with Fed/ Djoko in same half). USO 2012 was a shocking exception
