Just got confirmation that the Citrus Classic will be starting on December 16th this year, a week earlier than normal. I'm playing the club champion tomorrow. I'd like to see how SSGator would do against him since right now I'm having trouble getting sets off either player.

I don't want to post names, but I can send you an e-mail. I don't beat him very often. It only happens on days when he is not at his best and I am.

I use a 2 hander. But the problem with heavier racquets is the static weight vs the swing weight. Most stock racquets have a low swingweight even if they are heavier in static weight. One that does not is the Head Radical Pro..the one Andy Murray endorses. It is the same swingweight I modded my stick to, but it only weighs 11.6.

It's actually probably the racquet i would buy if I ever developed arm problems, because it has a ton of flex.

I talked to Frank about the Citrus when he was stringing my racquet. It sounds pretty cool. Not sure if I will do it this year or not, but next year I will for sure. I have no idea the level of competition.

I'd say the seeded players are usually 5.0s. The rest of the field is usually 4.5s with a few 4.0s. It's cool because he runs an Open tournament at the same time, so in between matches you can watch the real guys play.

Amer Delic won it 5 or 6 years ago. You get guys that might be ranked in the 300s or 400s in the world.

They also have a doubles tournament. I played it 2 years ago with the guy that had just beaten me in the quarters. It was a brutal match in about 85 degree weather. Then we had to immediately play doubles. We were up a set and a break when we both just gassed out. That doubles team went on to win the tournament which bummed us both out!

Where did you buy your sticks? I'm seriously considering going up to a 12 oz/HL combo.

could be a good thing for the health of your arm but will take time to adjust. that's a big change from what u have now right? u may need to bite the bullet and get a used one and play with it for a while til u get used to the additional weight.

Hey Mark, set the match up. Is the tournament open to anyone or do you have to be members?

Sure - Bad call. I will be pretty busy next week - but the week after would work fine. What is your schedule and where do you play?

Tourney is open to anyone. Club prize is a free 6 month membership for non-members and 1 year free membership for members. Sign up in November or you might not make it into the draw in time. The Open winner usually gets a few grand.

What is the entry fee? December looks pretty slow and that date is open. So I will most likely play.

I believe it is $35 for singles and $40 for a doubles team. You'll probably want to have Frank talk to me about seeding you. I've been a 6 or 7 seed the last three years. Singles is a 32 man draw for the Club and 64 for the Open. The Open starts on Wednesday and the Club on Thursday. You play your first two rounds on day 1 and then 1 match a day after that.

Looks like ssgator and I are going to try and get out there Wednesday at 5 PM over at OTC. Weather forecast looks good at the moment for that day.

If you do come out, maybe you can fix my forehand like you fixed Power Player's serve. I'd love to go one match without projecting a forehand 100 feet straight into the air!
