I totally agree. The K factor paint job is the best!

wrong. there was an article from a guy (cant find link now sorry) who had gotten his hands on a couple of fed's racquets from the wilson pro room at a tournament and, contrary to some's belief, he DOES play with a K90.

Federer has been interviewed seveal times and ask about his racket. He says it is the same racket you can pick up at any sporting goods store, it is nothing special, I just like the frame and it works for me.

You guys would really be going nuts if you saw the sportscenter commercial with one of the sportscasters talking about the top ten Sportscasters that just came on during the hot dog eating contest where he is holding an old N90. Everyone would be talking about him going back to the ncode

The K90 paintjob is one of the most hideous on the market. Aside from red and black being an awful and obnoxious color combination, the random swirls and gimmicky marks only make it that much worse.

Where has artistic criticism gone? It's a great racquet but it's god-awful ugly.

He's basically the only top pro who uses the ACTUAL racquet of the paint job.

It´s completely irrelevant though, maybe he just wanted a bigger head since the suit was harder to play with.

right, because he's going to not use his own racket, but one that is almost identical in appearance, only slightly bigger and shinier. because THAT makes sense.

You do realize that his particular k factor does not have the FX technology right?

Close, but not quite it. When doing an advertising shoot, they use what is called "color correct product" (no relation to color technology or any other marketing nonsense for next year's line) supplied by the client. This is true not just for tennis racquets, but for soup cans, cookie boxes, sneakers, bicycles, cold medication and any other consumer goods being shot. The client (in this case Wilson) provides cosmetically perfect samples (usually from a separate run) of what they'd like their endorser to use in the commercial for promotional purposes. It has to look perfect visually, and often they add a glossy coating (or sometimes the opposite, a matte finish) to achieve the look they want on camera, as per the recommendation of the director, art director, etc. They would equip it with whatever grip they think looks cleanest or best in the shots, not what the player actually uses. Players rarely use their own actual equipment in commercials, and certainly wouldn't do so in one where they're not even depicting actual competitive play. So the frame Fed is using (whether it's a K90, K95, K95 Team or anything else) is irrelevant to what he does or will play with. And he didn't "forget" his racquets...he simply is never expected to bring them, and wouldn't get to use them if he did. So, to sum up, I wouldn't worry about what he used in that Rolex ad. It has no bearing on anything, other than what Wilson and the director agreed worked best for camera.

N.B. For those arguing about the head size, you're wasting your time assessing the racquet's appearance of size in the frame. You'll do better to closely examine the cosmetics and guess which six-one model he's holding in the shot. (I have no idea whether he's using his 90 or some 95, but it's entirely possible that they gave him one of the other ksix ones for the shoot for cosmetic reasons.) Either way, you can't necessarily tell what is happening in the still frame above not just because of the "mirror". It's because when you shoot a spot like this on film, the director might use any of several lenses in a wide range of possibilities, many of which aren't "neutral". For example, if they're using a wider angle lens for the particular shot, then the racquet head will appear to be enlarged relatively speaking if its closer to the camera than other things in the frame that it's being compared to (such as Fed's head, arm or other body parts).

Not sure what you're referring to, but there's quite a bit of info available on Roddick's racquet. What info do you want? Just as Roger uses Nate at P1 to customize his frames, Roddick uses Roman at RPNY. For the record, his frame is an older PD+ (NOT a PDR+) with lead added.

I HAVE FOUND AN OFFICIAL WILSON PICTURE OF THE RACQUET IN THE ROLEX COMMERCIAL!!!

I am surprised no one found it, as it took me less than 20 seconds of searching!
