He said it himself, he promised he would not play unless he is at 100%, giving his 200%.
There will be no excuses. Not from Toni not from fans here. http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/te...y/1104834.html ![]() |

But on a serious note, I hope he is 100% and plays. It'll be a shame if he doesn't ! |

Even though Nadal is not at 100%, should he have played anyway? I mean why not compete at 80% and see how it goes. Just because he he feels he cannot win the whole thing given his situation, is that a good enough reason to withdraw and not play?

This thread really looks ridiculous now.
Why would you open a thread like this? Last edited by gj011 : 06-19-2009 at 04:46 PM. |

At the end of the day Nadal withdrew from Wimbledon late in the piece because he was not 100% and was hoping for a miraculous recovery. Him playing at below 100% would not have done himself or the tournament any justice. As they say the show must go on and lets hope that Federer goes all the way and makes history once more.

I think it's more of an issue of not making the matter worse...Nadal is young and if he can stay healthy, he has a potential record breaking career (he already has). I think him and Uncle Toni are looking more long run than keeping the #1 ranking and defending the title...although I'm sure it hurts Nadal to think about losing it...
