I doubt this is Nike...they would surely realise the marketing flop. He looks like a right royal smugness, trying to play up to his media image of perfection. Barely appropriate for the sport. Belongs at a snooker table.
How's it a flop? People may love it or hate it, but they'll definitely be talking about it, which means more exposure for Nike. Anyway, it's not like this outfit is marketed towards regular folks. I think of it as tennis haute couture.

He could've left that gilded murse in the locker room though.

What do you expect? It's Nike. They have been producing crap every since Phil Knight was peddling his wares out of a pickup at track meets in Oregon.

Federer, Nadal, Sharapova, etc ... Nike wants to make everyone a walking eyesore:

Bring back the classy shirts from 70's Fila and Sergio Tacchini. Borg, Vilas, Pannetta wore the best tennis gear.

I didn't think it was too bad.
Maybe not a 100% match for a tennis player but stylish otherwise.

There is a sense of Michael Jackson in all of this. Perhaps soon, there will be military regalia, a white glove, and shades to with it.

I agree. That outfit is hideous. Federer is so arrogant to wear it.

Why couldn't they just stay with the vintage and sophistic
ted stlye that suited Roger and his personality? They pulled this off with the waist coat but, the jacket?

Seriously, I can't say that I like everything that Federer and Nadal wears from Nike (I don't wear Nike) but it's good to see them having a play on clothes rather than just wear whatever their sponsors throw at them. These clothes were designed with them in mind or with their inputs in them. Like them or hate them, it causes a bit of a stir when they go out on court. Plus they are European. These concepts would be scoffed at by your typical Americans.

how does it make him arrogant? He''s under contract to wear what they tell him to wear. It would be more arrogant of him to say he wouldn't wear it and only want to wear what he wants.

The jacket is too much.

I'm a Federer fan through and through, and the special Wimbledon outfits over the last couple of years have been over the top but just ok - sometimes quite historically stylish in a retro way, this time... nope, just wrong...

Don't like it but it doesn't matter that much as long as he plays great tennis.I think that blazer he wore last year is much better.
