Default Fernando Verdasco's grip size

Hi all,

Have become a fan of Verdasco's since the epic Australian Open with Nadal.

Just wondering what grip size he uses? L2 (1/4) or L3 (3/?

Anyone got confirmed genuine info to share.

Thanks,

Wharton A.

I actually remember reading that it was a L4, meaning 4 1/2. He's a relatively big guy, remember.

I read somewhere he's a L2. Nadal uses a L2 and he's a big guy too. I heard these European players, because of the clay courts, prefer smaller grip size for spin and what not.

Can someone clarify?

I don't have an answer but is it really worth arguing about a pro's grip size?

Yes grip size has a huge impact on which path the racket takes.

smaller grip: more snap

bigger grip: more stability

since it's easiar to put more spin on the ball with a smaller grip somo pros prefers to use them.

Pros quite often get there grips custom made. A lot of them don't really have a grip size as we know it, they have ones built slightly larger or smaller depending on their exact needs. Verdasco might be like this and have his grips unique to his frames only.

you are right. and their grip shape is probably different from the retail ones.

also, different people have different hand size. no point to discuss this.

It is a custom handle, infact, his rackets come without a handle, i know the guy who does his sticks and he also makes the handle, it's custom but it measures the equivalent of an L2

not true. it is because of the synthetic grip.

well i dont think having grip size like verdascos will help anybody develop game like verdascos

i also read somewhere that most of the spaniards use 4 1/4 grips but i guess it just depends on what different people prefer, no matter if theyre pros or not

have u guys over 1.8 meters used a 4 1/4 grip before?

u know how small it is? well, I tried it before. When receiving hard hits, it will twist in my hand.

so i am very amazed at how these guys can use such a small grip, if all these information is correct. I wonder how dated these grip size information is. are they from their junior days?
