They're called ankle braces...a special lace up boot to support the ankle. http://www.asoankle.com/index.cfm?fu...AsoInformation

Babs.

Thank you. I thought they must be for ankle protection but hadn't heard of injury for either of them. Wonder if they prevent injury?

I mean I wonder if they really work, or if the prevention aspect is just marketing.

Yeah, they work really well in preventing ankle rolls, sprains, fractures, and breaks.

Roddick has had ankle issues since his junior years... he has worn them almost his entire pro career. Just too many injuries, and it wasn't worth ruining a career for that extra 1/10 second of speed...

Anyone wear these? I have pronated ankles, looks like this might help support them.

I wear these on hardcourts and i must say they work pretty good it gives you that support you need. especially when your sprinting for a ball you feel the support there on your ankles. I think its worth a buy

yeah i wear the ASO and they are great for all courts and you dont need to buy a bigger shoe its like wearing two pairs of socks which is what i do when i dont wanna put these on and they offer a comparable amount of support also
