Is Hurricane 18 really as soft as USRSA says it is?

String Stiffness lbs/in 187
Diameter 1.21mm

This blows everything else that claims to be soft away.

Yes. Best poly imo but no one gives it enough credit. I even found it softer than psgd!

I am sure it is soft, but how is its spin potential?

I have tried another super thin poly that has stiffness rating below 200.

It too was softer than psgd but the spin potential typical of polys just wasn't there.

Its not soft, its a poly. Natural gut is around 90-110 in stiffness.
Could PSGD be over 200??

Spin comes not from the string but from the technique.

I think they've got some sort of machine that test it with a hammer like pendulum hitting it.

Somewhere on the TW with there's a Tecnifibre video of their testing.

Question about Bab Pro Hurricane: I dont wanna start a thread just for this, is the BPH Blue the same as tne non blue? Or is there a difference besides the color? I can get a 660ft reel for about $80 so thats a bargain, just want to know if its the same thing that TW has, since its not the blue string.

Blue is the same. That is also a really good deal.

Yes, the 16g and 17g PSGD have the stiffness ratings of 213 to 212, respectively.

It's my favorite poly to date, actually. It just feels like the strings are grating the ball and making extra spin.

Test Procedure
All strings in our test were tensioned to 62 pounds and allowed to sit for 200 seconds. Then the string was hit five times with a force equivalent to hitting a 120 mph serve. The tension loss represents the amount of the relaxation over both time and impact.

The stiffness value is a calculation derived from the amount of force created at impact to stretch the string. Lower values represent softer stings and lower impact forces. Higher values represent stiffer strings and higher impact forces.

Ok thanks. And yeah, super deal, actually almost free, cause Im giving my phone in exchange for the strings, which I valued at about $80. Theyre gonna be the most expensive strings Ive bought, so I'll be sure to give feed back on my thoughts when I try it out.

It's my string of choice. First poly I ever tried. (Changed from Xcel) Very smooth change for me. Only took about 30 minutes before I got used to the feeling of this poly. It feels very soft.

It's doesn't hold tension awfully well though.

Agree. Only downside is loosing tension quickly.Similar to SPPP 18
