At Palm Springs in the late 80s or early 90s, McEnroe missed a shot, then pushed over a hefty TV camera by the side of the court---the cameraman fell out of his chair and escaped injury---he could of had his leg fractured or broken by that heavy thing. Cliff Drysdale couldn't believe that officials allowed McEnroe to continue playing, but they did.

The Rock could get pretty hot out there. I always remember him playing Sampras in Miami in the mid 90s. First set goes to a TB and Jim did not like a call by the chair ump on a Sampras serve which Jim thought was way out. Jim lost the TB and was down 0-40 on Pete's serve in the first game of set two. He hit a forehand return that nailed the chair ump right in the leg, then raised his hand to say Sorry. But you knew he did it on purpose classic Courier.

Totally irrelevant. Tarango's 'other" behavior doesn't matter. The real key is that he did not finish the match. Of course, by that same token, he robbed himself of a chance to go on at Wimbledon (he himself expressed great (and I think sincere) regret at that the next day).

A bigger fine may be justified for Tarango, but while it's not necessarily relevent to the fine amount, I will point out that the sum Tarango got hit with was FAR FAR more substantial than that fine is to Serena. That is one week's dress money for her. She couldn't care less.

In addition, if Tarango gets suspended, he's out of luck. There aren't going to be big money exhibitions for him to play. Suspend Serena, and she can still make money like you wouldn't believe. Want to hurt her? Ban her from GRAND SLAM play for 1 or 2 years!

Tarango is playing the Challenger tournaments now, and is doing okay, beating up on the kids.
He got banned from 2 Slams and got fined $63,000 total for walking off that court at Wimbledon. It's been weeks since Serena went on a swear-filled tirade at the Open, yet some Grand Slam committee or the ITF still hasn't fined her more than the $10,500 she got hit with, and hasn't gotten banned from anything. Guess they're just gonna let Queen Serena slide. Not really fair, is it?

I enjoyed watching Courier get beat soundly in WTT by nobodies.

I wonder how roger acts when he's venting steam

I was never a big Courier fan. I think it's kind of weird that he used to read a book during changeovers.
