I'm aware that Rafa has made some changes in his serve to make it more of a weapon on faster surfaces but I've not really looked all that carefully at his mechanics. I think that you may be correct about the stance change. Videos posted by FYB and on YouTube this year appear to be more of a PP stance. Videos posted on YouTube early in 2008 appear to be platform (with a delayed PP?).

I agree with Systemic Anomaly. Nadal in his earlier years was a platform but now it's somewhat of a delayed pinpoint stance. He Systemic Anomaly, you live in Santa Clara! I do too, lets get together for a hit yeah?

Yes, even earlier than that. I remember a the first match that he and FEDex played and he was using the open stance back then.
Here is the video:

Sounds good. But I should probably hold off a bit until my shoulder is back up to 70% (chronic rotator issue). I really messed it up pretty good this past week trying a trick shot in badminton that was a bit too creative (or perhaps too ambitious for my already limited shoulder function). I usually play a lot at SCTC and WVC. You?

Hm, I play at the cupertino sports center alot because I work there. Otherwise, I'll play at central park in santa clara, or as you probably know it as the SCTC.

I believe Nadal has readjusted his technique slightly, to relieve the pressure and stress on his knees.
He is using less of his legs in the motion in order to prevent injury.
