Default Year end NTPR ratings

I heard a fairly valid rumor that the year end NTRP ratings will be published earlier than previous years, i.e. prior to Thanksgiving.

That's right around when they usually do it. When all the national tournaments are over.

How do you determine the validity of a rumor?

It can't happen until after mixed nationals are completed.

The "Spring" season nationals, i.e. nationals for those playing in the Spring, have been completed. So, the benchmarks have aleady been established. Then they compute the year end which is the dynamic rating plus benchmarks.

If one didn't play in the spring, but played mixed, they would receive a Mixed Exclusive rating. This does come after national Mixed tourneys.

The mixed champs are Nov 20-22....so maybe after that? Last year they were out on Dec. 1 so if it's going to be early it probably will only be a day or so.

Am I correct in assuming that 2010 early start league matches completed already will not count in the 2009 YE ratings?

I wonder if they are putting the regular ratings up first, and then add the mixed later? Mixed teams start registering this week here, so our section seems to believe at least some of the ratings will be out earlier so captains have a clue whether they will have a team or not before registering new teams closes on Dec 13th.

Im not sure what you mean by "spring". Our league is in the summer and the ratings dont come out until the nationals that came from those are over.

The Mixed Nationals that are currently going on are from the summer as well.

Although you are right if every other division was done, they could logically come out with those and do the mixed later. (since you only get a mixed rating if you ONLY play mixed, if you do both mixed matches dont even count toward your rating)

But again that would put it near the end of November which isnt really necessarily all that much earlier then normal. (maybe more then last year but Ive seen ratings in late november before, I thought they sometimes were getting later and later every year)

Yes. Your 2009 year-end rating is based on your results in the 2009 championship year.

I think you mean Adult and Senior Division Nationals. Those Divisions are played in the spring time in many areas, but not all. Some areas have early start leagues, so "Spring" does not define any USTA league. USTA Leagues are divided into Divisions, not seasons. Year end ratings come out after the last National tournament. I imagine they will be published about a week after Mixed Nationals.
