Federer losing to James Blake at the Olympics.

Fed was talking left and right about his motivation to win the Olympics. He had never lost to Blake in 8 matches till that point. He had only lost 1 set to Blake in a tight tie-break (9-11). And he got straight-setted in Beijing!

I think it's on par with Nadal losing to Soderling at the French.

Yeah, but Federer walked away with an Olympic Gold Medal anyway while Blake walked away with nothing.

I would have to say Roddicks record against Fed. But it must be nice to have Brooklyn Decker to console.

He retired because he was a beast. Beasts aren't allowed to play human sports.

Why isn't the Serena Williams incident here? Threatening to shove an f'ing ball down the f'ing throat of a line judge? That takes the cake.

Maybe she thought that the line judge looked malnourished.

gotta be the roddick-Fed h2h. The '09 Wimby second set tiebreak choke has been discussed to death, but even looking past that, you figure andy should've won at least a couple more, right?

Federer's been really struggling in Wimbledon finals for the last few years. In 07,08 and 09 he made the final no problem, but all 3 went the distance, and in all 3 instances the 2 sets Federer won before the fifth were tiebreakers and the two he lost were 6-3 or 6-4. So while Federer had chances to win all 3, he could just as easily have lost them all too. I think he's a little lucky to have won 2 of the 3 to be honest.

Nalbandian failing to win even a single Slam.

Almagro blowing 5 match points and failing to serve out the match multiple times against Nadal in '09 Paris Masters.
No, I'd say prime Federer losing to a teenager 5 consecutive times tops it.

Hamburg set 1 up 5-1, lost it 7-5, set 2 up 5-3 (after being a break down early), just won it on the tiebreaker, then got hammered in set 3. Then going into the French didn't even make it slightly competitive.
Yeah, those two matches were epic fails. I mean, Nadal stepped it up when he needed to, but it was clear Fed choked at some crucial points. When you are leading 5-1 and you have two chances to serve it out, you should be able to do it, against any player.

Federer is a mental midget who crumbles everytime he meets Nadal. That's why he suddenly straight setted Nadal in Madrid, hitting a second serve ace on BP in the second set. I think 2008 was at that point just a really bad year for Federer, he wasn't feeling well, and he was going to lose those matches anyway. I certainly don't think ANY top pro had the biggest fail in the last few years.

Coria in the French Open 2004.

It's only 5 years ago and has already seemingly passed into tennis legend.
