Also in the recent upgrade on the ATP side the betterment of the playing quality came as a tsunami and tumbled the two players on the top and installed there players as Del Potro winning the Us.Open to...Mr Federer...and it came from players listed below the top...
I think the same was going to happen in the WTA but they decided to waste a wildcard and they ruined the broth...they put a stick in the wheels of Wozniacki...and she tumbled down...what a pity!!!...Under my personal logical thought she was undoubtedly the champion!!! but the WTA didnt want it...
What in the world are you talking about? Your posts are incoherent.

FYI... the WTA does not invest or build up players. Individual national federations (like the USTA) develop players; college programs, or just parents bringing their girls up to play tennis.

What the WTA can do, is perhaps change the schedule.

Also, both tours have gone through their transition periods. The WTA will get better, theres simply too much money to be won - the competition will definitely get better.

And the Belgians are not the only 'good' players, don't forget about the Williams sisters.

Twenty would be great but there aren't twenty slams in one year.

And I call Henin the female version of Fed because of her game. Her single hander BH, her net game (doesn't come in a lot, but compared to other players, she does). She has a lot of variety compared to the very one dimensional WTA game. Her domination in 2007 was also very similar to Fed's, and if I'm not mistaken both reached all slam finals that year.
she made all the finals in 2006 not 2007. in 2006 she made all four but only won the french. Mauresmo won AO and Wim in 2006, Sharapova won the USO. in 2007 Serena won the AO, Venus won Wim and Henin won FO and USO. Henin has never won more than 2 slams in a year....

My postings were never incohertent and I'm very sure of what I'm talking about...I never mentioned the WTA TRAINING OR COACHING TENNIS PLAYERS...what I was talking about is as you say a change of schedule giving opportunities to everyone to win a tournament...
The MONEY to be won is another fact to take under consideration but not here in this posting because it is quite a different subject to discuss and it is a bit off topic here...
I think that the ''Belgians'' as you call them are spoiling the broth because they will win all leaving the crumbs to the remainder batch of players and that doesnt help anyone and spoils the possibility of ''equal oportunities for everyone''and does not contribute for an upgrading in the sport...
The Williamses are another chapter because they seem to have a different anatomy as the other players...I see them more weightlifting than playing tennis...so I always thought that they were a bit '''off topic'' playing tennis...aliens to the sport...

That's poor thinking to my mind. What is this, charity? It is competition. Let the best come up to the surface.

We should be grateful for having Henin and Clijsters (and Serena, and Venus, as they could've retired too by now) around, as stimulus for the youngsters.

I never found that prizes in sports even if they involve(MUCH money mean a charitable attitude of the tennis associations.I am thinking that EVERYONE should be able to win that prize and that(MUCH) money evenly...not only the two players of the top...every player should have a trophy at home...
Througout this thread I said that there should be at least 20 players of equal quality to make the sport interesting and assure in this way that all tickets are sold (lately I've seen many half empty courts).
Personally I think that these comebacs will not inspire any younger player,on the contrary ,they will deprive two younger players of getting wildcards to the tournaments...a bad policy...
Personally I find that if you are retired that should be definitive with no step backwards...

A WC into a tourny should be earned. Let them beat whoever is out there. If one of the best players of the decade decides to come back and hit a few balls at a tournament, and are serious in there efforts, it does nothing more than up the ante for the future accomplishments of any up and comer. You sound sour in your hatred of certain players. If a player can't beat the top 64 or 124 players in the world, the why the heck do they "deserve" a WC?!

lol, you guys won't be laughing in 3-5 years time. WTA will dominated by Chinese girls just like the non English speaking "kims" Koreans on the current lpga golf tour. It'll be chens and ha's on every trophy.

When I referred to wildcards I was referring to give the possibility to two ''newcomers'' to take part of a tournament. These ''newcomers'' under my point of view will gain experience and in the following tournaments perhaps they will arrive to the best 16 and then to the final stages...this is better than comebacks...
I do not hate Kim and Justine...on the contrary I was always a Kim's fan and she was always since her first matches my favorite player and I would like to see her play again and again up to the moment she will be escorted by her grandsons to the court (ha ha ha)...but I understand also that this does not improve or upgrade the quality of tennis we see on the courts...because upgrading in sport is an internal phenomenon of the players that suddenly they find themselves with enough confidence as to beat everyone (see this phenomenon in the ATP side with players as Davydenko,Del Potro and Verdasco)...this same phenomenon was happening in the WTA in the last month previous to the US. Open in which I can recall Caroline Wozniacki and Yanina Wickmeyer playing a superb tennis (I remember I saw matches that made me think about Justine's and Kim's best matches)...but then came a wildcard that put a stick in the wheel of Mrs.Wozniacki with no benefit to anyone...just for the pocket of Kim...
I am afraid that after Justine will play in Australia all the sport will be set to the mold of her (and Kim's) shoes instead of upgrading...and the WTA will suffer again from empty courts, lack of interest in their matches, etc.
Kim and Justine are not a guarantee for an upgrade...Sorry...

At least there are some folks on the WTA that can now challenge Serena.

If you want real WTA development, you'd want your girl Wozniacki to compete against someone who can actually hit the ball.

Wozniacki didn't win the USO because she wasn't good enough (yet) to be a champ.

you remember how Mauresmo won AO and Wimby???? 2 slams Henin should have had.. Mauresmo should have ended with 0 slams, shes the luckiest female ever to win 2 slams without a doubt!
