Head Code names

I see all the code names when people reference Head racquets all the time, like TKG, TK, 237, 238, 57, etc etc, but never know which frames they exactly are. Can someone please decode them? Thanks.

There's a list of code names somewhere, somebody will probably find it.

Basically, these are all prostock frames, meaning frames specially designed for special people (like pros, sponsored colleged players, etc). Some of us mere mortals can get our hands on these frames on occassion.

I've been wondering about this one too. Even though I just switched to the Prince Rebel, I am curious as to what code is for Djokovic's racquet as I would like to obtain one.

you won't be able to get your hands on a djoko racket most likely. it's a very mysterious racket/mold that most certainly isn't any form of a speed pro.

I know it's a slim chance and I would probably have to pay through the teeth to get one but I would still like to. The specs are just too good.

Djokovic and Murray's sticks don't have codes. They are completely custom racquets with custom molds, layups, and drill patterns. To date, these are the only two Head players who don't use coded racquets. The codes are as follows, keeping in mind that the .1's are 18x20, the .2's stiffer 16x19s, and the .3's flexier 16x19s:

As I just read in another posters thread, the TGK262.1 is still a 16x19. So is there a TGK262.x that is a softer, 18x20?

Thanks for the heads up. I wasn't aware of that. I know for a fact that the MG TGK's were that way for the string patterns, and I just assumed the Speed Pros would be the same. I'm good friends with a Head rep who's pretty high up on the food chain, so I'll give him a call today.

Good question. It totally depends on the mold. The 238.1 and .2 are very similar in terms of stiffness, whereas the 237.1 is supposed to be considerably stiffer than the .2, which is in turn considerably stiffer than the .3.

Thanks for the quick response. Just curious but have you ever with with any of the TGK 231 Radical Pro stock versions? Just wondering how they hit compared to retail. I believe that's what Chardy and Cilic use.

I've hit with the TGK231.2 and .3, and they are both amazingly solid. They are both a bit stiffer, and obviously have a more open string pattern than the retail version. They also seemed to have a significantly higher flexpoint in the hoop than the retail version, which took a little while to get used to. The .1's are exceptionally rare, and very few tour players use them. I believe Chardy uses the .2 and Cilic the .3. There was a .2 on the 'Bay the other week, auction #300369832502.
