Default Most lopsided h2h against a #1 in a slam final

The title says it all. The most lopsided surface dependent h2h (Edit: not in favour of ) a #1 in a slam final . I'm not interested in rhetoric, opinions, english or any other language you may write in. I just want to know about players ranked #1 in a slam final who faced opponents with really advantageous h2h scores on the surface the slam is played on and state their ages at the of the match.

From memory the most lopsided matchup against the #1 ranked player in a slam final I can think of is when Federer faced Nadal in the 2008 FO final

Federer was 1-8 on clay entering the final against Nadal and 27 vs 21/22 in age. As expected Federer lost. Badly.

Any other #1 face a tougher than Federer's 1-8 record?

Add your picks below. List the match, year and the losing h2h score of the player ranked #1 going into the final.

bump.

No takers. This is a chance for fans of other number #1s to show what a tough time they had in slam finals.

AM95, Don't you think big losing h2h scores faced by #1s in slam finals are interesting trivia for tennis fans?

I'm asking people to list the match, the head to head and age difference. I specifically said don't write anything else so there's no room for subjective opinion. Just post the facts.

How many times in a row did Soderling lose to Federer before this year's French Open final?

Most lopsided H2H I can think of in recent years in a final.

Well, that final and the Wimby final with Roddick this year (it was like 19-2, no?)

Blinkism, Read my post. I'm asking for lopsided h2h scores against #1 ranked players in slam finals, not scores in their favour. So Federer's losing 1-8 against Nadal in the 2008 FO counts but Federer's winning h2h against Roddick doesn't count.

I don't think this thread is specific enough.

I think it should be the most lopsided surface dependent h2h against a left-handed #1 from Spain in a slam final.

Fact finders, start your research!

We've all seen plenty of discussions about Federer and other #1 beating players they already own in slam finals. That is threads about #1s having easy slam finals. So why not, just this once list some slam finals where the number #1 doesn't own the other finalist?

#1 Seles got slammed by Graf 6-2,6-1 in the 1992 Wimbledon finals.

It's true it was quite shocking to see #1 hammered so badly. But at least was the #2 in the world and the King of Clay who did it.

But what was the h2h before the final on grass? Did Seles own Graf on glass be a big margin like Nadal does against Federer on clay?

So was Federer the only number #1 in a slam final to face an opponent with such a big h2h lead over him on the surface the slam was played on? That's the purpose of the thread, to find out if any other #1 faced such tough odds in a slam final.

Fed has played at least 1 slam final as the number #1 ranked player in the world when his opponent had the winning h2h by a big margin. I'm still wondering if #1s in so-called stronger eras faced such tough odds in a slam final. Some people keep saying they did but where are the facts?

at least when it pertains to Federer. Fed has been owned by Nadal in slam finals(FO). so not sure of anyone else.
