Yes, Roger hurt his wrist because he wasn't playing with his watch on.

Nice, yeah, it's a very nice old town. The oldest, most northern located Roman settlement to be exact. 'Ultra trajectum' is where the name comes from.

Interesting.hehe she liked it so much that she considered moving permanently after uni. Though I am willing to bet that in winters it won't be so nice.

well it is a pleasant place indeed! As for the weather: depends on what weather you like. Usually, it rains over here. Right now, but this is an exception, it snows and freezes. The pubs are nice and warm though, and so are the people.

hehe yes,I suspect one very important factor that formed her opinion was the pubs But the ppl were-suprisingly-rather friendly and ready to start a conversation. Not at all expected from northerners-as we call them. but then again,I never had the pleasure of meeting a dutch.Only Germans,Poles and Swiss from the region-who weren't sooo talkative. so maybe Dutch people are a whole different story. Both of them I know are Fedfans so that's a good sign.

Heheh. Yeah we over here are 'northerners' indeed, so at times a bit distant at first meeting, but Utrecht with its huge university, law school & various technical institutions (in total: close to some 60,000 students, lots of them from abroad) is very internationally orientated and highly educated so nearly everyone speaks English. A typical university town so the folks around here might not be 'typical Dutchies'. Most of us like to meet up with folks from abroad!

I think in our country, students are usually quite open for conversation with foreign students etc. and with people in general. But most working class people and business people are often in a bit of a rush, and not really interested in the people they don't know. That could be a problem for a lot of mediterrean people I think. Most people here are polite, but not always as warm and close with strangers as they are in Italy, Spain or Greece.
