yep - you finish every forehand at waist side, not the worst thing, but no wonder you were having trouble picking up the ball with a fresh stringjob on a relatively light racket. Try taking the stroke up to your shoulder with the 200 - because right now the only vertical component of your stroke is generated by forearm rotation. Your backhand goes up high so I bet the backhands were working well for you with 200.

sounds like the problem with the racquet is nothing some lead can't fix.

I had lead on mine. 8 grams at 3 and 9. It felt way too head light for me when I got it. That's how I played with it.

Are you guys hitting with the 295g or the 320g unstrung version?

What about the weight, 320g unstrung is on the stick but TW says it's 331g strung: that math doesn't really work.

The ~335g strung one is the 320g version. Keep in mind that RDS 002 weighs 300g without strings (average weight according to Yonex) and according to TW it weighs 309g with strings! http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/Yone...EX-RDS002.html http://www.yonex.com/tennis/racquets/rd.html I'd say that the "average weight" is the key to understanding this. I mean Yonex suggests that it should be 320g but will differ depending on gripsize. But that's just a guess though. |

Probably the wide angle lens playing tricks (no wide angle lens on the yonex stuff). But the RDiS stuff does hit with massive spin.

Mine was 334 strung with NXT no dampener or overgrip.

The 200 has the flex and the slightly thinner hoop that'll hopefully help my game. I'm trying to play more net these days via doubles, and I hit the frame too much, I could benefit from a 98 head size.

Yeah, this is week two for me and I still haven't added the lead. I really want to give it a real try before messing with it....as for weight I haven't gotten around to weighing it or figuring out the actual balance either. When I do I'll put it up.

Took it out to serve with today, stock, with a tournagrip overgrip and the yonex dampener in. It's strung with some Yonex synthetic I believe, the string says Yonex ATG 850. It was great! It has a very healthy sweetspot (it would seem the isometric headshape really does create a bigger sweetspot), and I was able to get really good ballspeed off the racquet. It's flexy feel is really comfortable and forgiving, allowing me to be more consistent than my Speed Pro. My serves were really penetrating, easily hitting halfway up the fence after the bounce in the service box. I gotta say, the spin potential with the RDiS 200 is amazing, and I personally believe it could go toe-to-toe with the APD racquets in the spin department. My kick serves were the best they've been in a long time. I'm not sure if that's how the Yonex guys do it, but they grip the base grip where it gets the annoying ridges, but that's something that could be fixed pretty easily.
I'm excited to try out the groundstrokes with it. I'm gonna have a lesson with my coach on Friday, and I'll try it out stock also for most of practice, and then I'll probably add some lead tape to it to see how it plays.
