Default Anyone hit with Becker Gut? It's on sale crazy cheap!!

Was ordering some natural gut last night and saw that the Becker is on sale 3 for the price of 2 which is less than $24 a pack. It's on back order, but I was able to place an order and pay to get that price. Man, that's not that much more than a nice multi.

In the process of reviewing it in my 'Mid Level Gut Playtest' thread: http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showthread.php?t=450710

I'm hitting again this afternoon & will do the writeup this weekend. Only thing I can say now is: I've already purchased 4 more packs...

Would you prefer thicker or thinner? The TW playtester review said it looked more like a 17L.

Who makes Becker gut, is it Volkl? If so, who makes theirs?

I would think, just like Volkl gut, it would be a version of Klip Legend.

Up until a year or two ago, $25-$26 was the regular price for that.

It's amazing how high the string prices have shot up recently.

I prefer thicker. If there's a 15, I'd get that in a heartbeat. I'm always looking to take as much power as I can out of my frames.

I don't dare to touch 17 and up. Too much power, and my wallet won't be happy.

I wouldn't recommend Becker gut. It's prone to unraveling. There's a reason why nobody talks about it or uses it. Pacific classic at 30 bucks a pop is a much better choice. Or better yet just get Bablot Tonic for slightly more.

Klip makes a 15 gauge, from time to time TW carries it. Maybe you could post a question to them regarding its availability.

I am interested in the Klip stuff, but I also want to try Pacific's offering (but they don't offer 15). So I'll see.

My opinion: Bab Tonic+ BallFeel is best medium price gut. Pac Classic 16G is a close 2nd, and Klip Legend 16G is 3rd. Legend has poor coating and unravels. Tonic and Classic have very good coating and string, feel and play like high quality products.
