In last year's AO, even before the tournament started. Nadal sat on some random chair, "heard his knee snap/crack", and was worried enough to get a MRI immediately. Then he taped the hell out of that knee.

Don't forget, a five hour slam match with Djokovic or Rafa is actually about three or four hours of tennis and about an hour or two of ball bouncing, waiting, and time wasting.

Have they tightened up on time wasting here like the ATP tournaments? Haven't really noticed it.

No, the slams/ITF events remain the same.

A lot deppends on the player how good he can recover. If Djokovic or Nadal play a 5 hour match, they could recover for the next one.
But as we`ve seen,Simon or Tipsarevic were pretty much done after some tough 5 setters.
