TE2009 let's me focus a little on strategy instead of being totally focusing on timing, so it's a little more enjoyable in terms of gameplay. |

i'm playing under the username jokmaster (joachim)
would be nice to play some exhibitions more often. who is currently playing this game online too? and btw i'm from austria just in case of lag, cause imo the game is based on good timing and with lag it is just unplayable. |

sometimes i can hit with 60+% 1st serve on a best-of-5 sets match but most of the time i'm only at 40ish. i can bagel or breadstick the cpu at level 4 and can barely defeat them at level 5.

Dream match's graphics seem really crappy, and it just doesn't seem as much fun.

of course the graphics is crap, it has nowhere near the money that VT or Topspin has, considering its $20 or less...i can understand why some people don't consider it to be fun, if u want a fun game play VT 09 or topspin they are more arcade-like and good graphics, but if u want something more challenging choose Dream match or Tennis Elbow 09

I'm starting to sort the service out (DMT), but I've yet to find a way to put some direction to it
I think I'm finally liking this game, although I still think TE '09 is the best |

It has great graphics but the gameplay (namely the movement) is not good. Tennis Elbow 2011 for the P.C. is a good game. At 6/10ths its an excellent game, but anything above its just good IMO. Both games show how important movement is for me when it comes to a tennis game. TS4's movement is absolutelty horrible for those who prefer control! The game too often dictates a player's movement and some of the control mechanisms are completely illogical. TE 2011 allows absolute controll of a players movement, but the characters seem to slide more than run, and the characters' first step is way too slow. Its difficult for me to play defense, at least right now, on TE. TE also does not allow for hitting on the run, which is very important for me. Top Spin 3 was great at all of this in regards to movement, and its control mechanism was incredibly instinctive (hold button and then release to strike) -- absolutely brilliant! It allowed for hitting on the run and great defensive play... |

ps. Tennis Elbow reminds me of Pro Evolution Soccer in the sense that one can fully patch it like they've done here http://www.managames.com/Forum/topic29-5363.php Last edited by mxmx : 10-11-2012 at 06:22 AM. |

Yes, overall i do like TE, but given my style of play I can't really compete against good players online. This is because TE's movement does not allow for hitting on the run and great defensive play. TE does allow for great offensive play; TS4 allows for niether (for me). You can play multiplayer on TE, there are builds for all the main players of the past and present (from Federer to Agassi to Borg and so on). I"m sure your PC can handle TE 2011 as far as graphics -- which really are not that great. The backgrounds in TE can be fantastic, because its basically a photo background. But any animation is probably a little below PS2 level graphics, on par with PS1 games more or less. If you decide to get TE, I would highly recommend the ITST build. It provides a good current roster of players with balanced specs and some very nice courts and backgrounds (they even have the blue clay courts from last year's Madrid tournament |

I find it interesting, even though its just gaming... So last night i played TE2011 on my home pc (the demo) It is the frigging best tennis game i have played thus far. I definitely want to get this game, and get it patched. At home, i have a joystick, gamepad, keyboard and mouse...so technically 4 player games should be possible with the full version if I'm understanding correctly? The only thing that should prevent me from buying this game, is if multiplayer is only available online. I want to be able to play with and against friends on one pc. Technically, it would be possible to use two pc's and lan it without internet connection. As for my pc...it handles it very well. Overall, the tennis experience with this game is really realistic, especially when one has either a gamepad or joypad plugged into your pc. Quote:
With Pro Evolution Soccer 2006, a patch made the game almost twice as good. But i had to get a friend to install it for me...(ps. I can really recommend this game, even for non-soccer fans - one of the best programmed and realistic sports games there is - great graphics on low spec pc's and one can never get too good with the game) As for the running forehand thing....i know what you mean...when one "runs" to the right whilst wanting to hit the ball, it forces the ball right. But if one runs early, almost stop, and then hit in direction, its still possible. Just good footwork dude :P |

Yes, you can play mutliplayer offline, but I don't like the way the game splits the screen. It cuts it in half, there may be options to allow both players (or 4 with doubles) to play on one screen, I'm not entirely sure... Here are directions on how to download the ITST patch, you have to have the full version of the game: http://www.intertopspintour.net/foru...ic.php?t=16709 Its not too hard, it took me a couple of trys and some help from the ITST forum... Yea, I know its possible to hit on the run, but its far from intuitive in TE. I mean TS3 was far from easy, but its strike mapping and mechanism was near perfect. I wish TE allowed for moving while your pushing the button, so you could make little correction steps like in real tennis Also, the players' movement is strange to me; very slow first step and then they sprint and seemingly slide around, ugh... |
