In the Dunlop offices, I'm sure he is regarded as a saint compared to Haas or Safin, though.

The TR thing is really touching. Tribute to his dad and all. I got one of the blue shirts and I like it. But, I think it confuses the average tennis consumer/fan and non-tennis fan.

Well, I'll always admire him. Mensch. Streaky player, but a mensch nonetheless.

I'll buy FILA and Dunlop over Nike and Wilson...not because of him but because of my own preferences.

That's probably what he's doing with the Nike shoes and whatever frame that is (Dunlop, custom or otherwise).

Go James. One more good year?!

No pws, so we can rule out Wilson.

Is anyone familiar with Tyger frames? I remember hearing through a guy I used to play with...who played with Thomas Blake ... that James used some custom Tyger frame w/ various pjs over it.

not sure if this is supposed to be funny or a joke, but to me, that's exactly what it looks like. doesn't look like his dunlop. obviously not any type of wilson. tight 18x20 pattern, slight curve to the throat. i don't know.

You're right. That is one seriously thick anti-swooshtastic black tape job.
I just assumed it was yet another heinous Nike design.

I went to GSS and went to the Memphis 2010 stringing log. It does not identify Blake as the one with the Wilson Prototype. "Wilson sent a blacked out racquet for a player that Bob customized and I strung. It took an hour to string. Individual grommets at 9 and 3 that kept on falling out. Quite a challenge!"
Check this photo out:

Looks like a grommet strip is in there to me and not individual grommets.

Also the last post on Memphis said this:
As mentioned, there have been a few "Blackout" frames come through which is not uncommon since many players get new contracts at the beginning of the year and some are either negotiating are still looking for their perfect frame. Some of the frames are quite easy to identify and some are a mystery. As a matter of policy we don't disclose the info. We stencil the racquets with the logo requested by the player and the racquets are logged as BLACK PROTOTYPE on our records.

LOL...or maybe he likes the stick but cannot stnd the sight of the red, black and zebra stripe cosmetics, hahah.
I'm not photo expert but that is NOT a 90" frame by any stretch of the imagination.
