Default ankle issues

Hi

Yesterday I went on the court and played for about an hour and towards the end i felt some pain in my ankle. I got off and iced it, and now it's reddish. Is that a sign of inflammation or could the red color be from ice?

I'm sort of concerned because for the past 2 months I have been recovering from Posterior Tibial Tendinitis in the other leg, and it's better now, but I'm nervous I have the same problem now in the second leg as I did in my tendinitis leg.

What are the chances of getting posterior tibialis tendinitis in both legs?

And could this be just something minor like soreness or something?

By the way, It does not hurt today at all,(only hurt a little last night) and it's just red.

Hopefully this is just some minor soreness and the redness was just a reaction to the ice. Why not post back if it recurrs?

hey thanks for replying to this thread and my old one, charliefedererer. I went to my team practice today and hit for 2 hours and it was fine, so i think it was just minor soreness. My tibial posterior tendinitis leg(which i took almost 2 months off for) was fine too and still is, but when I do some stretches I can feel some minor pain in the ankle. Does this mean it's coming back or something?

Again thank you for your replies.

Hopefully not.

During a period of inflammation, the white blood cells at the site that largely moderate the amount of inflammation, attract fibroblasts to the area. These fibroblats lay down fibrin and collagen, which coalesce, and form "scar tissue". This "scar tissue" is meant to strengthen the area, but can be laid down in a disorganized way, so that adjacent tendons that should easily slide past each other can catch against each other a little, producing some discomfort when you stretch. It is to prevent too much adhering of adjacent tendons from excess scar tissue that physical therapy range of motion exercises and stretching are so important as the healing is going on. Over time, the amazing body usually reorganizes the scar tissue so that the inflamation rekindled from stretching and micro-tearing of these areas gets all better. I hope that will be soon in your case, but it usually takes months rather than weeks.

I Have Two Skinny (and Multiple Injured) Ankles So I Feel Your Pain.

What Works For Me, Calf Raises To Strengthen The Supporting Tendons/ligaments. Also Soft Ankle Braces...they Are Basically Compression Socks Which Help Me Tremendously Without Being Bulky Like The Hard Braces.
