The important thing is that the forehand looks good (although he almost never hits it like that during real matches ).
fearhand does look good in that clip. Nice.

He best start now, or he's not winning a thing.

Nadal gotta be a lot more conservative in this US Open than he was in Cincy/Toronto. No need to stand that close to the baseline. Defense wins Championships, and unforced errors lose Championships. With a stroke like his, its suicide playing the ball on the rise on fast hardcourts. Reach his 2008 US Open level and he'll win it this time because he's physically fresh.

Rafa was seen practicing with Nalbandian yesterday. According to this blogger, Rafa was leading 6-3 5-2 before their session ended.

Don't expect Nadal to win a match and then it'll be easier to watch, so you feel like its a bonus when he wins a set etc. That's what I do.

Nalbo is a Nadal fan girl. He's sure to collapse if he meets Nadal at the USO.

So Rafa wont play on Monday, which means that if there will be bad weather in the next few weeks, his match will probably be delayed AGAIN.
Didn't they learn anything from the previous years?
And then there's the "Super" Saturday.. This tournament is a joke.
It would be nice if he would end up having to play for 3 days in a row. This is what he deserves for being an idiot and having an incompetent team.

That's why he was Nadal's daddy a couple of years ago.

The only shot I have heard Nadal say that he is afraid of(using those words) is Nalbandian's BH. Sure, they are friends(why would nalby be friends with the bully I don't know) but Nalbandian had the upper hand in his matchup most of the time. Look how much trouble Nadal had with Nalby in Miami even though Nalbandian had just come back from injury.

Being an "idiot"? Ahem, I think Nadal is a confident and smart enough person to realize that there is nothing to whine and mope about right now. So much can happen between now and super saturday, perhaps NYC could get hit by such a massive storm that everyone gets pushed back. Nadal is not an idiot and that incompetent team of his helped win 8 majors. Super saturday has been f*ing s*$t up since 1984. We can only hope that it doesnt effect the players to negatively.

I don't understand. When Rafa is in the bottom half of the draw, it's the other one that starts playing. When he's the first seed, surprise, the bottom half is the first one. Is it a request from Federer that his half of the draw starts playing or a request from Rafa to always play second?

It's not only about the Super Saturday. In the last two years his matches have been affected by rain, because he was scheduled to play last.
In 2008 his SF match was moved on Louis Armstrong and played on 2 days because of the rain, while Federer was able to finish his match in time on Arthur Ashe.
Last year he was scheduled to play the last QF match and he couldn't finish it because of the rain. The organizers knew that there are big chances of rain in the evening, but they scheduled two or three doubles matches on the center court before Nadal's match. He probably knew that, his team probably knew that and they didn't do anything. They could have easily moved one or two doubles matches on a different court and finish the QF earlier. They probably didn't want to do that because of televisions and financial interests, but they ended up having a Monday final, AGAIN.
