Saw it tonight. Between the promos and JJ Abrams and Steven Spielberg behind it, I thought it would be a SciFi/Horror movie like War of the Worlds. It was boring and neither funny, scary, or suspensful. It seems to be more of a pre-teen movie.

I wish I had walked out and watched X-Men again.

MacEnroe / Borg: Fire & Ice. Really good documentary. Every tennis player & fan should see it.

Oh man, it's really hard to pick which one is the best, especially because the really good ones are so different. But if I had to pick top 5 and the reasons why, I would say:

1. Fido (This movie is just plain amazing, if you haven't seen it, you have to. It's satire of the 1950's lifestyle with zombies. And it is probably the best and most original Zombie movie out right now).
2. Dawn of the Dead Original (I'll admit that i kind of fell asleep halfway through, but this has the best portrayal of zombies, and this movie alone makes me wish there will be a zombie apocalypse. It is definitely the best zombie survival movie).
3. Dawn of the Dead Remake (I don't like the fact that the zombies run, but still a great movie. first time i saw it, it freaked me out, now i can't stop watching it. I wish they would remake it and do it inside a Costco, that would be pretty bad ***).
4. Dead Snow (This movie has absolutely the best combination of horror and comedy out of all the other zombie movies. Fido doesn't have any ROFL moments, but this one definitely has a few).
5. The Walking Dead Series (This show is the most f*cking amazing show ever. Can't wait for the next season. When you watch it you feel like you're watching a good movie, and it's awesome because you know there's going to be more installments. For sure the best horror television series out there, right above Supernatural).

As for the Diary of the dead, I have not seen the extra footage.

Well there are still non-terrible ones like:

Dead Set (British mini-series) - Brilliant

The Horde (French)
Siege of the Dead, aka "Rammbock" (Germany)

I liked the last two better than "Dead Snow" which was merely average IMHO.

I'm looking forward to watching "The Walking Dead" but then again, it might be a while since, as far as series goes, I tend to wait for the series to be over and then buy the complete set.

I never heard of Siege or Dead Set, I'll make sure to check them out. I was not a huge fan of The Horde though, that movie was ehh... Do you mainly watch foreign ones? I think Dead Snow, and the Horde, and 28 Days later (British foregin ) were the foreign zombie flicks I've seen. I heard there's a new Italian one coming out that is supposed to be pretty good, i have to find the trailer again though.

I saw most of the well known ones, Romero, the remakes, etc... and a few foreign ones I read or hear about on movie forums. I think The Horde and Siege of the Dead are the best ones to come out recently. They are not masterpieces and do not re-invent anything, but I found them to be pretty entertaining.

"Dead Set" though is excellent. It's 5 episodes but you can watch them seamlessly as a single film. And it's about $10 shipping included from amazon UK if you own a region free DVD player.

My brother and friend said that High School of the Dead is supposed to be amazing. It's an anime though, so not sure how much you'd like it. I haven't watched it myself for that reason because you don't get the zombie experience of real people dying.

Thumbs up for the Walking Dead, even though it kind of moved away from the storyline in the book it was still way better than those RE live action films, probably the only good thing the movies was the Nemesis, Jill, Claire, and Mike Epps. I can't wait until they bring back the 2nd season of WD

A "classic movie" called Taken? This can't be the one with Liam Neeson looking for his daughter? Seemed like a run-of-the-mill thriller to me, got fairly dreadful reviews.

Watched two good ones recently:

Tucker and Dale vs Evil very good comedy, 8/10.

Stake Land ...a different kind of vampire movie, I liked the concept.

The Hangover II. What can I say? I'm not that into comedy. Had to go with a friend. As a marvel fan, I wanted to see X-M:FC

Movie was funny. Not hilarious but it didn't get boring. Not the type of flick I would pay money to see in the theather, but not a bad experience anyway.

Just watched it because Netflix is taking it off instant play in 2 days. Thought it was funny as well but I could never forgive what Jessie did to Bill.
