can someone please take photos of the grommetless version of the POG OS I am not sure if the one I have is missing grommets or is just gommetless...some of the string holes on the 10 and 2 o'clock positions are square shaped.
Thanks.

it's easy to tell if you've got a grommetless version of the POG. the racquet won't have the groove for the grommet strip from the 3 to 9 o'clock positions (bottom half of the hoop) because it wasn't designed for a grommet strip.

Mid has less plow through but its spin is unreal. It is also much easier to whip it around for short angle shots. Comparing them side by side, there is a noticeable difference in head sizes but playability-wise I don't notice much in sweet spots. I also serve better with mid because its head comes around faster. Nice thread. I'm picking up the mid. My pro swears by them. He went back to the POG OS after 15 years away. He wonders now why he ever left. The OS is too big for me, so am going with the mid.
Edit: I am getting rid of the leather grip. I never liked the Prince leathers.

on a separate note, why don't you like Prince leather grips? i find the Prince Genuine Calfskin leather grips to be quite good. |

Weird I know, but the calf skin is too smooth and not grainy enough for me.

I went to a Goodwill today and bought a POG single stripe 110 for $1.91. No grommets. A little beat up but well worth 1.91

Could you possibly post a pic of the beam on these first POGs? Mine has a groove from 9-3. If it does need a grommet, where can I get one?

Among the Prince 90s of that era, my nod goes to the Graphite Pro. Its graphite/fiberglass composition (80/20, I believe) gives it the feel that the POG 90 is missing. The GP 110 is a very nice stick as well, although not as crisp as the POG OS. (A friend of mine who knows a ton about sticks from that time told me Prince originally expected the Graphite Pro to be the bigger seller. As we know, the POG turned out to be far more popular and long-lived -- and deservedly so, imo (the OS).) |

I just acquired a one stripe POG oversize which has individual grommets and no bumperguard. No side printing - no top printing. Bears the date 1983. Recommended tension 72-80 pounds! So I don't exactly see where it fits into this list.
It is not exactly the same frame as the four stipe POGs I have although it looks like it might take the same grommet and bumperguard set. I wonder what you folks think about that? I've not encountered those individual grommets before - what to do when they wear out? I love the 4 stripe POGs and play with them regularly, so this new one striper may become a favorite too. |

Hi !
Does anyone know if the POG 90 grommets fit the Graphite Pro 90 ? COnsidering ti has the same headsize and the same pattern, how could it not be ??? I had both at a time but I haven't been clever enough to check that, and now I would like to get new grommets for the GraphPro90

It's a 4 stripe midplus which followed the Graphite 90. Great stick, and yours looks in excellent condition.

I bought it about 12 years ago and I didnīt play much with it. Back then when I bought it, it was already an old model, I think.
I canīt find this model or the model Graphite 90 in the first message of this topic. Is this one of the first pogs? / is it one of the best? I donīt know much about racquets. Thank you |

Your Midplus falls into the POG 4.5 category with the POG Oversize. They follow the Graphite 90 and Graphite 110 of category 4 in post #1.
Some say that the four stripe models were the best of the bunch, but it's all subjective to personal preference. I've played with the single stripe and the four stripe and prefer the latter myself, but there may be others that say the opposite. |
