Which of these two strings do you prefer and why?
And what about Spin X vs. Blue Gear Are there any strings that you like more than these two in the same price range? |

The Pro Supex is superior in both cases. Black Magic is just a fairly decent string, while Big Ace is outstanding. Blue Gear and Kirschbaum Spiky Shark are second to none when it comes to spin production. I prefer the KSS out of all of the choices.

SpinX has much more feel and way better tension maintenance than Blue Gear. The ball pocketing on SpinX is great and so is the spin.

I prefer SpinX to the others listed. It's what I am using right now and is getting great reviews on here. The pocketing feel is addicting and generating spin is very easy.

Spin X is also a lot better. It has more spin and pockets the ball better. It has more power and better tension maitanence. Genesis is so much better than pro supex

What tension are you using on your typhoon and are you trying it out in your ytpp? I've got mine at 54/52 and it's too low.

I have it at 23/21 (roughly 50/48 lbs). I've always liked low tensions and I thought it was pretty good. I played two sets with my dad yesterday and thought it was ok then I played two sets against a solid player in a tournament (mens open) and I liked it better. It definetly plays better once it settles in. I'll have to try spin x on my ytpp to see if i like it more since it's cheaper in a reel. And yea, im using typhoon in my pro

I haven't hit enough with Spin X so I cannot comment on that.

It feels like the ball sinks into the string bed a bit and then rockets off. Definitely not a mushy feeling though. MSV had no pocketing in my opinion and felt mushy so there is a difference. I think the pocketing effect is due to the balls slightly longer dwell time on the string bed. Which is why it feels more pronounced, to me, at lower tensions. Gut does it the best but SpinX and Typhoon both pocket the ball very well. It's a very comfortable feeling as well.

I have played big ace for over a year and really liked it. It was the best string I had played to date. But I just got the free sample of Typhoon and I was blown away by it. Typhoon has better feel, more power, and a lot more spin. I have hit with it 3 times now and I can't believe how good the string is. The spin is very good and I can hit all out and the ball stays in the court. The only question now is how good is the tension maintenance. So far I have not notice any major loss in tension so hopefully it will not be an issue.

I think, that since genesis-tennis.com, prosupexusa.com, and the depot of tennis are all owned by the same person, Black Magic is Big Ace Revo. I also think SpinX is Blue Gear Ultimatum Spin. Just a hunch.

If you honestly think that Spin X produces more spin than Blue Gear, then you must hit flat with a continental forehand. I've never heard such garbage in my life. The two strings I mentioned, Blue Gear and Spiky Shark, are the best spin strings money can buy. No debate, period. The ratings do not lie. http://stringforum.net/top5.php?cat=S |
