I'm curious... what did Sharapova actually used during her career?
To my memory: TT Hornet MP TT Hornet MP (More Attack pj) Prince TT Hornet MP (Japanese edition frame closest to this is the Game Shark MP, marketed by Sharapova as Turbo Shark which was available everywhere) with Babolat Pro Hurricane/VS gut Prince O3 White XF (Japanese edition frame promoted as O3 White) Prince O3 White XF (promoted as Speedport White) Speedport Black - she hurt herself with that one.... Could anyone knowledgeable shed some light on this? Thx! |

You are correct.... I have a contact in the Pro and yes, Head is trying to develop a racket for her because of her injury. It will be a custom racket with a YouTek PJ just for her. |

It doesn't make sense really. If someone was to develop a frame for her it would be Prince not Head... |

Sharapova’s Prince Deal Worth $25M; Sponsors Activate Maria Sharapova’s lifetime endorsement deal with Prince “is set up to be worth about $25[M] over the next 10 years,” according to a source cited by the AP’s Howard Fendrich. Sharapova will earn royalties from sales of “various Prince products, and there are clauses tied to tournament appearances, success and rankings.” Prince VP/Sports Marketing & Communications Linda Glassel: “The contract is very similar to others in many ways, where she has the opportunity to earn additional dollars with even stronger performance.” Glassel said this is the first time Prince has agreed to a lifetime contract with a player (AP, 8/2 http://www.sportsbusinessdaily.com/article/105392

It is a Prince proto-type,, looks similar to Triple Threat Hornet with cross section with no bumper and no big grommets on sides

I hope it's a Prince, but the pic of the butt cap makes me think otherwise (Head).

I am not buying that it is a Prince. The buttcap is clearly a Head. Plus her last known string combo was Lux M2 with Gut. The strings she is playing now are black. Can you say Head Sonic poly?

If it were a just a Radical Pro, why would they tie off the crosses at 9t rather than 5T?
Hmmm ?

If RPNY is stringing those racquets, which they usually do, the crosses will be tied off to a cross. Even though 5t would be the manufacturers tieoff, it's going to lose a lot of tension because it's so far away from the last tensioned string.

The buttcap looks sort of like a Head because of the white ring and the shape, but I would bet money that's an OLD racquet... probably something she used early in her career when she was winning slams and didn't have a gimp shoulder.

I was speaking with a Head rep on Sunday. He mentioned that they were currently working with Sharapova.
