Call Prince 1 800 2 TENNIS. Another way to string those rackets is with the two piece 50/50 method.

Prince is up to 4 different types of boomerangs now, and some of their racquets do not have any boomerangs avail. Best to do what their web site suggests, and that is to use a brake.Seems like the boomerang adds more friction, and that can effect the tension being pulled.

Good luck finding one. Someone posted a year or so ago that Prince no longer sends them out to those that request them.
I contacted Prince a couple of years ago requesting one of the boomerang things and got nothing. I use a Sharpie and they seem to work pretty well.

They started to give the boomerang again. I just got 2 from them a month ago.

50/50 actually works faster for me. It's a pain to pull the last cross on the bottom though.

Depending on which racket you string it is always going to be a pain for the bottom crosses no matter which way you string it.

With the two piece 50/50 method you don't need anything. No brake, no boomerang, nothing but your stringer. Just in case you are not familiar with the method you string the mains just as you normally would and tie them off.

Then start your crosses in the center of the racket on the bridge between two O ports that is on the widest part of the racket as in the picture below.

[IMG][/IMG]

The weave the two string across the racket into the one O port that is on the widest part of the racket as in the picture below.

[IMG][/IMG]

Then you should pull tension on both the cross string to set a clamp on the inside of the frame as far from the tension head as you can. If you do not have a starting clamp use one of your floating clamps. Then pull tension on the top cross. This string should lay normally in to top portion of the O port as seen in the picture below. If it does not you can twist the racket ever so slightly so it does.

[IMG][/IMG]

With tension pulled on the top cross you can clamp it off. If you did not have a starting clamp you are going to have to use one of your flying clamps now on the outside of the racket to hold the string. Make sure you adjust it to hold only one string as normally it is adjusted for two strings. Now pull tension on the lower cross string and move your flying clamp to the inside of the frame closest to the tension head. Now run the next lower cross and pull tension and move the flying clamp (the one inside the frame) to the cross you just tensioned. You can now pull tension on the top cross again and move the clamp inside the frame. From this point on you cross all thetop crosses until you are done. As you pull tension on those crosses you will notice the angle of the string going into the frame gets greater and greater as you get near the top but all the strings lay in the proper position of O port as seen below.

[IMG][/IMG]

Finish the top crosses then run all the lower crosses. This method has been approved by Prince and you do not need any tools or gizmos to do it.

One more point I forgot about. You do not need to pay any attention to what side of the racket is the short side. As long as you start the crosses on a bridge between two O port and run both strings through the O port opposite that bridge you can't go wrong.

Irvine,

Is this how an O3 Tour is supposed to be strung as well?

I am getting a few in the mail soon, and I have never strung O3 Tours.

You can string any O3, O3 Hybrid, O3 Speedport, EXO3, or Ozone racket this way. No special trips, tips or gimmicks. One exception some of the O3 hybrid racket have the normal grommet holes on the outside and the O ports at the 6 and 12 o'clock position. These rackets can be strung as any other racket is strung.

They should just sell them like dampners. I would not mind paying a few dollars for them.

BTW I call the number and got a person's voice mail, of Associated Brands.

Exclamation Just FYI.....

I have used the 50/50 method for some time with Prince racquets and it works very well, as long as you do not string at the upper tension levels. A USRSA article stated that they did testing and found substantial frame distortion in the upper portion of the racquet head when using this method.

We recently tried this test also and confirmed the frame distortion in the upper head. This was especially evident when stringing with full poly. So while this method does in fact work, you may want to be careful when string on 2 point machines or machines that don't fully support the frame while stringing.

Cheers, TennezSport
